The debris hut done by primitiveskills channel is more informative and seems to take in to consideration how to trap your body heat to keep you warm. They have five videos covering different aspects of construction, modifications and properties.
You might not want to put it at the bottom of a slope.. If it rains all that water is going to pour right into your shelter and you're going to be one sad panda
@Traveler2112 Yeah, could have used the jacket. If I was going to sleep in it, I would have pilled on a lot more leaves, and possibly spent more time constructing the framework. Thanks for the comment
@WhiteDavey I've done things where it didnt even occur to me later that using my own shirt or jacket would have made it a lot easier or other things. But didnt think of using it til later when I was already done. It is a good shelter though.
Looks good and strong! I think you built it there as you were just demonstrating the shelter but look where you have positioned it! Bad in a real life situation! Between two slopes on a downhill slope! Heavy rain in the night would run down both sides and down the slope and flood you out very quickly! It would probably be ok in summer (weather permitting!) as it would be out the wind and not easily seen from a distance. Nice!
@moleman1961 Yes, You are 100% correct man. But it is the lesser of two evils, as the other possible location was on a steeper slope. So it was the best I could do in the area. I still have to upload the 3rd part!!, the editing was messed up, so I had to re-do it. Thanks for the comment.
Very cool, spent the night in one last month in a snow storm. They work out great. Nice vid ;]

Это построено на дне оврага, во время дождя укрытие затопит. Автор выбрал место строительства из-за обилия там строительного материала (листьев).

If it rains you might find yourself laying in a runoff stream down there between those hills.

Not bad. I've built several similar over the years to use as deer & turkey blinds during hunting season.

You coulda used your jacket to transpot the leaves. Totally agree with moleman on placement, but understand your limitations there.

does it keep water off your back if it rains? if yes then its a good job
MrIrishrover2010 1 year ago
@MrIrishrover2010 well, if it was torrential rain it would get wet. But light to mild rain wouldnt effect the hut.
