you dont have to guess what the directions are on the slope

you just have to get the telescope from the beacon

go to room above the sports shop

and you can see from there

dude you missed the telescope thing...

you have to go to the beacon, unlock the telescope with your wrench and put it in your inventory, then go to gary's room and put the telescope on the tripode, it will show you the way to the penguins..
