whats the exact type of remo snare head you have, cause i just got new heads today so i thought i should try out the black suede heads. when i put it on the snare head splits in half. i know it wasnt my fault cause the snare head had major dents in it when i hit it very lightly.
I have the 2-ply Emperor. It's been cranked down on that snare for almost a year and it's just now starting to lose it's tone from being stretched so hard
Well, from my experience the EQ2 is a tricky head to work with. It can sound really good on some drums or really crappy on others. I've had it on my kit for almost 3 years and just recently got it to sound good. The Aquarian Superkick and Superkick 2 are always a good choice for a big low end boom.

thanks man, half the drum videos on youtube are bullshit so i'm glad you like it. 12 years of practice to a metronome definitely pays off.
