  • can you be my mom?

  • Also have you tried this, fry onion garlic tomato and bacon, then add raw cabbage, I think you American folk have anouther name for cabbage I have used this term when talking to people from the US and they have told me what you call it but cannot Remember, this is very good, you cook the CABBAGE till its still a little crunchy, very good also. What do you call cabbage ? .

  • @critchley3819 FYI... in America cabbage is cabbage. A capsicum, however, is a bell pepper and a swede is a rutabaga and cos lettuce is romaine. Hope that helps!

  • the rice have to be boiled, or what ?

  • @MARUSiAaaaaaaaaaa The rice needs to be cooked and cooled before making fried rice. If the rice is hot it will become mush when you stir fry it with the other ingredients.

  • Thank you

    Will try this tonight

  • @accesser Great - hope it's delicious!

  • i found this very basic and informative for someone who totally messed up his first ever batch of fried rice. now i have the basics to go by. thanks susan!

  • @johnniebwalkin Your welcome! Glad you enjoyed it and found it useful! Be sure to check out the great recipes and more videos on foodell.com - it's free! Thanks for watching!

  • @ChefSusanAtFoodell Im male and not such a good cook,I do like my recipe for flied lise (Aussie humour) I have watched this for a few times, are you saying that rice is better frozen before you start.

  • @critchley3819 Fried rice should be made with cooked, chilled rice, preferable made a day or two in advance. I always suggest that if you're having rice for dinner, cook extra and freeze it so you can use it for fried rice days or weeks later. The rice should be thawed before cooking.

  • @ChefSusanAtFoodell OK thanks Susan, when I use cooked rice it goes a little glugy, what do think Im doing wrong.

  • @critchley3819 Make sure you use a long grain rice and that it is cold before you start cooking - those 2 things are key to not having 'glugy' fried rice(!). The dish comes together really fast, so have all the ingredients ready so nothing cooks too long. Hope that helps!

  • @ChefSusanAtFoodell I think you have solved my problem, have you ever tried doing it by browning the rice then adding water with a packet of chicken noodle soup then simmer to the rice is soft and no water left, then add beaten eggs that have been cooked on a pan and cut to cubes and bacon done the same, this is great sometimes I will add peas and some red or green capsicom, try this its good.

  • The reason you do not get a lot of views is because the person that is cooking it is not asian... I am just saying
