If he is "Free" and he needed to be "free," shouldn't he have more peace and joy? He seams more in bondage, denial, and torment. Like he's not where he wants to be. He just trying to fit into a situation, he really does not want to be in. I don't find this inspiring. And so many "Ex-gays" just put up a good front to the public, but when they're alone, the truth comes out. For me it's not all about the sex, but who I need to give love and receive love from. I thank God for his understanding.
It sounds to me like he is more in bondage, than free. If I have to force myself into a marriage, act like it's serving my need for the love I want, I'd feel that I was in a prison. Jesus said, "He who divorces and remarries commits adultery." But, Christians still do it. Why? Because the situation is not something they want to be in, and if they stay, it may feel like bondage. So it is no different. God does not just have law, but understanding and grace. And, no man can measure it.
After fourteen years of being actively gay, I went six years without practicing any homo activity. I stayed in prayer much and in the Word. All it did for me is make me abstinent. My relationship with Jesus Christ (Which I still have, and always will) did not cause me to have a new found desire for a wife. I have constantly, and still do, ask him to put His desires in me. I have searched all of my entire being, and find no desire for a wife. I am now partnered, and am no less closer to God.
Well, Sy Rogers was not actually a homosexual. He was a heterosexual who, by his own testimony, was molested, and deprived of gender edification, causing him to seek male effection and even go so far as to seek a sex change to feel adequate. He is not "ex-gay". He was never gay. He was a deeply emotionally and sexually wounded heterosexual whom the Lord has healed and restored to HIS natural heterosexual identity. That is VERY different from homosexual identity.
This video is the answer to my prayers. God is so good, I used to be gay, and the memories stay even through the victories. It is so simple and I am so happy to be reminded ot this concept.
@olneyonestacyfay i love the speaker sy rodgers he made the point and he it spoke very truely to me because it brought clarity to my life . he came to teenmania to speak this was awesome .
very true.. not by strenght, nor by might, but by His Spirit only. we don't have the strength nor willpower to resist sin. the only thing we have is the power of the will. to choose Jesus or to choose self. If we put our will in His hands, He will provide a way to escape every temptation.
My Goodness, this speaks volumes to me, and i want to hear more of what he is saying here because its something Ive struggled with too. Ive never heard a person say it like he says it... God I want it and I want you.... help me to want you more...

Sy when will you just be true to yourself! Gay is not a disorder. Gender is not binary! You do more harm than good.
