@KarateMastR57 ok so you are telling me that that it has nothing to do with fact that it is actually a different guitar?? ok then my bad, sorry! cheers man.
@EmilFinnas94 hey, i know that graphtech have their piezosets, they even have their own OFR already piezo equipped(dont know if they have 7sting model) check their website, but its quite some work to get them installed,if u cant install it urself it will probably cost u quite a bit
@andypui it comes with it. it's in the tremolo called the Ibanez Double Edge. i don't believe they make anymore 7 string piezo-equiped Ibanez tremolos anymore, but they still make 6s.
Excellent.......Ive got a MM and an old Dean with Piezos...thats pretty close to them both. Amps have ALOT to do with how they sound.......
This is strange but they sound better to me through a SS amp instead of my tubes....and for the kid who thinks EMG's sound better.....Your a teenage Duece!
Hello. First I'd like to give you five stars. Amazing. Second can you tell me what the solo at 0:18 is? Third do you think it is possible to put a piezo pickup on a jp50? Thanks in advance :)
ok so I got an ibanez with two plugins but the one for piezo do not sound I do not know if it is the strings or the amp wich is a roland cube 80 when I try it there is no sound so please help me out, and ever since I bought it brand new I have been missing all this cool sound sob.
I got mine for 1500.00 used but mint just two weeks ago. And still learning to get different sounds out of it through a few amp's I have and the tonal possibilities are endless.Between the piezo/and standard signals this guitar was worth every penny.I would py 2g for this anyday,at least your getting something more for your money and not just paying for a name like a Jem.Ive been collecting them since 88 and this guitar smokes every Jem I own.But thats an opinion, lol
it depends on which system. Some set ups not only give an acoustic sound but also will let you split the guitar signal in true stereo bypassing the acoustic saddles signal. But it depends on which system you have.
@Necro280, You may be able to grab one used, but I'm pretty sure the model was discontinued soon after it's release. It's a shame, but you should check out Parker guitars, specifically the
P44, it goes for some 700 dollars and is a great value.
dudes, every guitar sounds it's own way, yes that does remind me of an ovation guitar, but it also doesnt fit the sound of the acoustic that most people are used to hearing
as far as i know you can only get one if you buy a guitar that comes equipped with one, so like, rg2027, john petrucci sig model, wes borland ibanez sig model (if you can find one), prs hollowbody II, steinberger. probably some more out there but as i said, i think you need to buy a guitar equipped with one, they arent sold seperatly
Wes Borland is the one who got me interested in these pickups. It'll cost a crap load buying the piezos by themselves and having them installed (on top of getting a guitar with a bridge that's compatible). I'll probably just save up and get John Petrucci's signature 7-string
or if you have a guitar that has a tonepros bridge, you could buy the schaller 1455p bridge to it, it's got 6 piezos in it and it cost's 140. everything else needed is included in the pack. i'm gonna buy one for my next guitar project.
You'd have to buy either piezo saddles and replace them with your current ones, or buy a new piezo bridge for example the X Bridge by L.R. Baggs. You would then have to wire it up or if you are not so good at this part, give the guitar to a luthier who will do it for you.
It's crazy sounding, maybe he cut the treble out. I have an EBMM JP6 & JP7 and they both sound like ovations through an amp. I've never tried cutting the treble out. It really sounds like nylons!
I get what your saying, even though piezo sound very acoustic, they usually dont soiund like nylon acoustics, and this guitar is soundig VERY nylonish
Dude, your guitar is perfect, I have the RG2020x, the only thing I did is to change the pickups for the Steve's Special and the Air Norton, the 5 position switch and the volume and tone pots, shitty hardware, but the rest it is a great instrument.
very clean and precise, and kinda punchy on the lower strings
my gibson sg/les paul custom is less direct then that, its more of a crisp and cutting sound, but i prefer more melodic acoustic kind of sounds like the ones your getting out of your ibanez
Im gonna have to dissapoint you because the black universe he owns with the green pickups etc etc, AND this guitar are out of production + it's a real bitch to find used models for sale >.>
I just bought the best 7 string Ibanez ever made. RG7 CST. There are only 24 made of them 10 years ago. It also features piezos. You can see demo of that guitar in the Related Videos -> Wes Borland ibanez demostration
Actually now you can for OFR's. Graph Tech is making saddles for OFR 6's but, if you contact them directly they will sell you the saddles for a 7 string.
WARNING you will have to do the modification yourself to your OFR.
LR Baggs is the company that made the piezo pieces for Ibanez. The just recently began selling them retail. It only works for the Edge tremolo's though.
Actually I was mistaken, LR Baggs makes pieces that can be fitted into an Edge with small mod's. Search Ibanez Piezo on here and you will find a video explaining it.
