I'm with Vodafone and as a promotion they gave me 1 months free membership in November last year but only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I went for the month and as soon as it was over they started ringing me up asking if I wanted to become a member and I said "No Thanks I was only interested in the free trial". AAAAHHHHH SUCK SHIT CUNTS!
Dont bother joining or working for Fitness First, I also worked for them as a Membership Consultant...All they do is change you and teach you how to extract money from the persons wallet and not care about their other situations in their life..If the person doesnt want to join, THEN THE PERSON WONT JOIN.....Simple as that! Fitness First respect you if you give them your cash, dont make that mistake....Middle finger is right up at you Fitness First
Its so true, I joined because they are in the city and that was way more convenient, but I'm already regretting it and cant wait till i can cancel my membership. they wouldn't even bother to show me how to use the machines ffs.
@borednarabota Um no it isn't. In order to get them to show me the machines I had to get a personal trainer to charge me to draft up a training program. Let alone my gf has been waiting over 2 months to get her coles myer card for joining through a friend.
@basteSM FF are known for their great equipment and facilitie? I went the other day where are the rip trainers, expanse of kettlebells and viprs, trx or other suspension training? Kit for true functional results in strength speed and power. Its now a well known fact that with the spread of unmanned low cost gyms fitness first are struggling and will more than likely be out of business soon. Poor clubs, poorly run.... Only one true health chain!
@zwecky10 Yes they are known for their great equipment and facilities. I don't see anything wrong using those kettleballs, TRX etc. Its just they are introducing the NEW EQUIPMENT to you guys. FF have to be innovative somehow. You don't have any idea how much TRX don't you? Your being bitter to FF. :) Have a great day.
things are quite different, i'm an SM and i run the sales staff to sell on needs not price or deals. at the end of the day we are here to provide a service to people who are in need and aren't quite sure how to go about it.
a good membership consultant will walk the floor and talk to members, do service calls and follow up with members who haven't been coming regularly.
do all mc's do this? hell no. should they? hell yes. i sleep real well at night knowing my members are happy with me
I work for this company and neither does the company just care about the money.
money plays an important part as it does in any company- Vodafone, telstra , foxtel all of these wich have contracts which have terms and conditions. many with ways to cancel but costs dep fees.
we live and breathe fitness and know all of our members by name
just because you didnt go or didnt read the conditions. dont be sour. we would have done our best to help you.
@borednarabota Good gyms don't need long term contracts, their reputation keeps their members coming back. Gym contracts all favour the gym and not the members, for example their is no guarantee of service, so classes can get halved, or even removed and so what you joined the gym for no longer exists. There needs to be standards in the fitness industry that all gyms must follow.
@jvisch You raise some good points but let me ask you this mate, can you see all the banks abiding by standards? Or how about all the telcos? Obviously not! Fitness First is a business, which like all other businesses, needs money to pay its staff and cover expenses. Competition is what makes the world go round, its a dog eat dog world mate!
@borednarabota In Christchurch, NZ the city council have affordable high quality gyms so other commercial gyms have to maintain standards or lose customers so it can work. Sadly I am in Wellington where the city council doesn't have high standards so fails here.
btw I think the vids awesome, these guys went to a lot of effort. I've watched it so many times I think I know all the words lol.
it just annoys the hell out of me when ppl complain about the price and contracts.. yes we care about your health and fitness- we really do. but as a BUSINESS, contracts need to be in place and fees need to be charged.
also, the receptionist in the clip kills my life.. I know every mbr who walks in on my shift- most by name. and I make sure the rest of my guys do to
exactly!!! maybe these ppl whinging about how hard it is to cxl should actually read what they're signing. it's all there in black and white, and even in colour in the terms and conditions booklet... who just hands over their credit card or bank account details without reading what they're signing first???
and to the person who got charged $20 for a towel... that's a load of crap cos Ff don't sell any towels for $20. furthermore, if you're going to cxl your gym mship over a towel, yo
It's not that they are after to your money. Fitness First is known for their great facilities and equipment that you can use to achieve your FITNESS GOALS. Fitness First WANT you to JOIN because they believe being FIT will give you a lot of benefit in life. Now, if your body or health is not improving. It's you who has a problem. You have to be motivated and not slacking off to the GYM. -Thank you

suprise suprise...maybe if they actually gave a sh-t about their members people wouldnt be leaving
"Fitness First's local membership fell by 16,000 people, or almost 5 per cent, to 332,000 members in the year to October 2010, accounts filed with the corporate regulator reveal." (The Age 29 August 2011 - search story "Lean times hit fitness industry in the gut').
Wish you guys had of done this skit with a different name like "fitness second" they are going to try and get you for infringement of trademark and damaging their corporate image. Im glad you guys did it, FF has become a bit of a joke these days, and they are hard to exit from once signed up. Just remember if FF does pursue this, as with many other well documented cases it always ends up back firing on them!! If companies didn’t try to constantly charge more for less they would have no problem!!
@voteobama2012 Even if they won a suit it would cause this vid to go even more viral and cause even more bad publicity, the best thing they can do is ignore it. Fucking great video though!
Classic. I bailed on them after getting charged $20 for a towel when I get them for free everywhere else. Its such a scam they don't care about fitness. Smell you later finance first.
I'm not sure why people think it's so hard to cancel ??? You have options when joining and you chose your own membership ! Does your phone company or foxtel just let you quit your contract just because you want to ? I'm pretty sure they don't .
Our members are provided with free newspapers daily , free fresh fruit and breakfast , free access for high school students during the school holidays , loyalty clubs where they receive discounts , every year we have new you awards that provides recognition for our members amazing efforts with $30,000 in prize money , qualified floor staff to assist our members and run our free team work outs .. I could go on and on
@87Tizz you could go on. But corporate image and these benefits are just to keep members, not necessarily keep them happy. I have been a member and the high price that I paid was not in proportion to what I was receiving. And there's a couple of cultural things in the above clip which are concerning and unfortunately true - namely the amount of gay sex that happens in the toilets...
Did it ever cross your mind to ask what more your entitled to at Fitness First gyms or did you think we were like any other gym where all you get is what you see...
Exactly right! Not to mention letting all SES, Police and Ambulance (to name a few) use our facilities for free during the QLD Floods. You people are self centered and only worry about yourselves, you clearly don't know what your entitled to so maybe ask questions before trying to quit and rubbish a company for no reason!
Not even funny. For the record I'm not a member anymore had to cancel coz I broke my leg, they canceled on the spot, no exits, fees nothing. Very easy. Plus I don't get the 'finance first' bit. I was paying under $15/week. Cheapest gym in my area.
I've been with them for eight years and they keep trying to increasing my rates when my contract has a fixed fee for life. They cave in pretty quickly once I threaten to sue them over it. FTW.
I remember when I was with Fitness First. I was on a 12 month contract and they kept charging afterwards until I finally said NO! Unfortunately they got my brother on an "in-case you come back payment plan" and he kept giving them money without going to the gym at all. I guess he was conformed into it. They sure love your money!!
@LucasKussowski I also remember about providing my friends' details (although I was actually happy to because at the time it seemed like a cool place to be) - they are so evil!
I had a free 7 day pass for Finance First through a magazine offer. The catch was i had to fill in forms with my details. I didnt fill in 'emergency contact' as i didnt want my friends or family to get caught in their web. The sales person questioned me on it and i continued to refuse to fill it in. She said "who should we call in an emergency?" i answered "call an ambulance". She did not get the ridiculousness of the situation.
Lets see how the pricks react when this thing goes viral! Pushiest people ever, ALL they care about is your money! Left them 5 years ago, vowed never again!!
Ohh this is just brilliant. I'm also proud to say I exploit them by using the gym for free during school holidays, and never intend to give them a cent.
