When i first bought the game i didn't it at all. I started to panic the night a played it the first time when i had to change disc 1 to disc 2. But i started to like it more and more and i realized that Final Fantasy XIII wasn't so bad as everyone thought. It is a really good game in it's own way, if you don't compare with the prevois games. Final Fantasy XIII has a charm after all. And Fang is masterpiece of work. My third favourite FF character ever!
Square-Enix should let us hold the option of choosing the Japanese/English Dub with English subtitles. But realistically, I don't think that will happen anytime soon because the voice synching is made according to the language, so they can't do 2 language voice synching. Would be too much for them.

@Animefreak440 what? It's nothing like the attack option. The attack option was just the basic melee attack that in all turn based rpg's. The auto option in FFXIII automatically chooses the best magic to use based on the enemy's weakness, eliminated all strategy of figuring out what the enemy was weak against.
I really like this trailer and I don't care what anyone thinks square-enix done a great I think it's a beautiful game and song these games are not easy to make and I love all the final fantasys. :3
i used to be a huge fan of final fantasy up until ff10. they need to stop with these lame ass j-pop style characters. now the games only seem to appeal to 15 year old girls.

The combat system in this latest FF is totally simplified, even watered down to what it used to b in previous FF games. You only control one charatcer, and just press "X" to keep attacking and "L1" to flip paradigms, when you need the group to heal, and thats it. I've accepted all this, but the one thing that annoys me is, when you characters have collected "Eidolons" only one char can use them in the battle.

@dartxp1 The Japanese do the same thing when they get their mandatory International versions with English voices and subtitles. I don;t see why EU and NA couldn't have gotten the same thing when it has been requested since FFX. Lip syncing is nice but the people simply wanted Japanese VAs and subtitles.
One another note concerning the song, I feel they should have tricked Mayaa Sakamoto to do it. I mean she was right there. Just saying...
I know and understand Japanese, and with that being said. At times I find that things need to be localized while doing the translation (get the yugioh abridged meme right there?). On a serious note I think when they release the games they should allow for things such as language and subtitles to be changed. Why not. This was done for Lost Odyssey and it was quite interesting. it's not that english voice actors don't have emotions. Have you ever recorded for an originally japanese show? The lip flap is fit for japanese. You have to match it so of course it sounds choppy. Try watching avatar, something that was recorded for english VA. The acting was very good and it was a plus that they didn't have to worry about the lip syncing. If it were made by italian people, for italian words and speaking, then it would sound better in italian.
Why do people think it's so much cooler to play the game in Japanese? We speak ENGLISH. It's rather nice of Squeenix to go to the bother of translating the game for us. I hate Wapanese culture.

Japan actually mirrors this in their culture. It is common for billboards, signs, t-shirts and all manner of things to have english plastered all over it, because its 'cool' or the in thing. However many companies still get the grammar wrong and you end up with Engrish which gets posted on the net to be laughed at.

i personally think the japanese voiceovers are better. like the emotions come out in their voices. where as some english voiceovers that just sound like a machine with no emotions. and sometimes the english voiceovers kind of comes out a bit choppy like its not a way a normal person would speak.

Ya, final fantasy 7 for instance had extra Weapons that weren't in the original japanese release, and then if i remember they turned around and re released a version in japan that included them plus some extra stuff we didn't see.
The theme song is only played during the ending and I'm sure the same will apply to the english version so people getting upset over 1 song really should just stfu and play the game

Absolutely epic. The graphics are sex for the eyes and the enemies look really badass and well designed. That last battle sequence was awesome too. The only problem I'll face though is the bad English voice acting, but ah well, this was intended for a Japanese audience originally anyways! I've gotta pre-order!

@dartxp1 The Japanese do the same thing when they get their mandatory International versions with English voices and subtitles. I don;t see why EU and NA couldn't have gotten the same thing when it has been requested since FFX. Lip syncing is nice but the people simply wanted Japanese VAs and subtitles.
One another note concerning the song, I feel they should have tricked Mayaa Sakamoto to do it. I mean she was right there. Just saying...

I know and understand Japanese, and with that being said. At times I find that things need to be localized while doing the translation (get the yugioh abridged meme right there?). On a serious note I think when they release the games they should allow for things such as language and subtitles to be changed. Why not. This was done for Lost Odyssey and it was quite interesting. Otherwise it really doesn't matter all too much unless those ppl wanna live in Japan(fing expensive place)

The Japanese song fits Final Fantasy more, whereas, the Leona Lewis song is not bad but isn't what you'd expect at first.
Perhaps they felt the Japanese song was too happy and cheerful for the theme to this game. I'm not too sure, just a guess.

@satori004 Oh boo hoo get over it. Its just one song in a myriad of other songs in the game. I think the only reason your mad about the song is that its not Japanese and its English. Both songs are ballads and are a bit different, but both fit in. Your just a upset because the song is not in precious Japanese. Thats all your mad about. I donot think you really understand the game as you claim you do.

it's not that english voice actors don't have emotions. Have you ever recorded for an originally japanese show? The lip flap is fit for japanese. You have to match it so of course it sounds choppy. Try watching avatar, something that was recorded for english VA. The acting was very good and it was a plus that they didn't have to worry about the lip syncing. If it were made by italian people, for italian words and speaking, then it would sound better in italian.

Why do people think it's so much cooler to play the game in Japanese? We speak ENGLISH. It's rather nice of Squeenix to go to the bother of translating the game for us. I hate Wapanese culture.

It's funny how you act as if it's a stereotype that Japanese people get all the games judging by your comment. I doubt you know how "Wapanese" feel the same way you do when SE's US games get more features than the JP versions. Because of the fact US gets SE's games later there's always a chance the US version gets more features. Use your common sense please. Your opinion =/= Wapanese culture

By Wapanese culture I am referring to the English-speaking fanboys/girls who think the game would be cooler in Japanese, just because playing in the Japanese language is somehow cooler than other languages (example: someone further down remarked that they wished the International version was in Japanese with English subtitles?). Japan actually mirrors this in their culture. It is common for billboards, signs, t-shirts and all manner of things to have english plastered all over it, because its 'cool' or the in thing. However many companies still get the grammar wrong and you end up with Engrish which gets posted on the net to be laughed at.

theres people like that who would think its cooler in japanese.
i personally think the japanese voiceovers are better. like the emotions come out in their voices. where as some english voiceovers that just sound like a machine with no emotions. and sometimes the english voiceovers kind of comes out a bit choppy like its not a way a normal person would speak.
but the japanese voiceovers sound like their actually conversing.
AND too be honest,The companies put more effort in the jap. ver.

Oh, that's what you meant. Sorry then. And no, I don't wish I was Japanese because I know enough Japanese to be able to play them. My point is that you shouldn't be complaining about SE making games for their country before ours. The "Wapanese" culture doesn't affect SE at all, IMO. SE is originally a Japanese company. If that was what you meant by Wapanese culture, I very much agree with you but I don't think they affect SE's games that much.

Ya, final fantasy 7 for instance had extra Weapons that weren't in the original japanese release, and then if i remember they turned around and re released a version in japan that included them plus some extra stuff we didn't see.

This game will get a 10/10 or 5/5 with great voice acting and graphics and gameplay and story plus it will be a long ass game to play and i dont think i would have that much free time..SquareEnix likes to make ppl happy and get money

Absolutely epic. The graphics are sex for the eyes and the enemies look really badass and well designed. That last battle sequence was awesome too. The only problem I'll face though is the bad English voice acting, but ah well, this was intended for a Japanese audience originally anyways! I've gotta pre-order!
