Very good! And I am still trying to figure out how to get a "direct" sound into my computer from whatever format I choose? Why is everything such a big secret? Why because of money I guess?
I record my steel to my computer now, which gives me more control over the sound than when I recorded with a regular camcorder, also there is no mechanical noise when I record with the computer.

No secret here, I just use a Boss GE7 graphic equalizer.
I take a cord from the volume pedal to the GE7, then from there to the microphone input on the back of my computer.
Then I use the free utility 'Audacity' to record and edit my steel.
Hope this helps

Hi Ron,
I record my steel to my computer now, which gives me more control over the sound than when I recorded with a regular camcorder, also there is no mechanical noise when I record with the computer.
I use a recording software called 'Audacity'
