Strange, I have 20 or more high school yearbooks from the 1950's, a couple hundred snap shots, and I know a few dozen people, including my parents, who were alive and in high school back then and nobody recalls many, if any at all, "Greasers" or "bully's" being around, beating the hell out of anyone. Hollywood has a way of creating a negative image of that time period, if it isn't violent Greasers, then it's sex crazed 50's teenagers. Not common.

I went to school with Nick (Vinnie) in Apple Valley Minnesota.. He was a great stage actor at the time and starred in every high school play while he was there.. I always wondered what happend to Nick and just happened to look him up when I saw his name on the wikipedia site for our high school.. He was recently in True Grit as well as a few older block buster movies like Twister, Disclosure, and Scent of a Woman..
