@theburdcotter You are correct I listen to it twelve more times three for the drums and three for the horns three for O.V. Wright and three for the whole song. It is great I will be more careful next time.
I rather be blind , cripple or crazy somewhere pushing up daisies before I start listening to today's music! This kind of music ministers to the soul not your private parts!
pure unadulterated memphis soul. the one person who doesn't like this song simply has not been exposed to "real" r&b music and has no clue as to what its all about.
I had to play this three times, after reading the commets I never notice the drums who ever is playing them is doing a very good job. The singing is great too,
@ThaGrooveallegiance Brother I got folks in Cascilla too, I got to know all your people.....lol small world!!! If you know any Taylors,Andrews,Browns,or Bernards that's Family. Keep it smooth bro!!!
What is you people talkin about.... This is music for a man in love sittin out in tha country drinkn that good gin and thinking about that woman at home or the one he's lost. Get wit it 'SOUTHERN FUNK'
O.V. really kills it, as do the horns. Just started to pay attention to O.V. wright recently, I wonder why he isn't more famous. It seems he was constantly great.
howard grimes' (of hi rhythm section) drum track on this song is the highlight of this track to me. the man is up on the level of al jackson jr. (of the m.g.'s) when it comes to rhythmic timing. grimes was jackson's understudy.
Man that drum groove is SO funky, never tire of it, brilliant.
