check out the Coen Bros. new film, True Grit. They based it on the novel, not John Wayne's film. the Two Jews On Film reviewed it. One of them gave it five bagels out of five. the other did not.

Sorry, but if Wayne had been awful or even just mediocre in this film, everybody would have noticed, no matter who fills the supporting roles. Your so called review disregards all the salient points such as the uniqueness of the Rooster Cogburn character, the idea of having a young girl as the female lead and the fact that all the supporting actors are in fact superb.

I love the fact that you want to talk about the movie but what you are saying is condescending, superficial and uninformed.

the Duke deserved the Oscar for this...but moreso for "The Searchers"...and "the Cowboys"-----thanks for the review
