Not really take a look at a trip to the moon,1902 and still visually asthetic and beautifully done, this film on the other hand is so bad it was panned by the average 50s viewer when it came out.
It's of the worst movies ever made, the most overwhelmingly critizised part being the one where the second brain (from a planets that has brains with eyes for citizens) possese a dog to fight the evil brain inside the man's head.
Its a clut classic but its lamness is a huge pat of its magic.
jamogogo whatever trust me i wish i was 29 again but im nlt im getting crazy e mails on various movies and tv shows im getting confused by the onslaught. but again sorry im not 29 like you wrote me personally. if you were a betting man YOUD LOSE trust me. im a bit older than you. for the record im GERMAn. is that a problem. is that ok by you?It is with the BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS. Hey there Jomogogo thanks for the e mail. I love this film too. I saw it in 58 double feature with How t Make a Monster & 50 years later both films are great. Agar supreme those eyes, even the BRAIN holds up, the burning scenes great, the music original, hey ill take these oldies anyday compared to the graphic bloody gore of today.Welcome to the club. we need more like you. MEGAHIT still holds up even today. Tomkess film/tv historian this is true i assure you
THIS IS A CLASSic. I saw it in 58 have it on dvd it still holds up, great acting good musuc eerie feeling to it, not hokey or stupid well written. Agar does a good job as he did in 50s sci fi films. PLANT AROUS is s gem. i love it. i have it on dvd and this horror film historian plays it time to time. i never tire of this or other 50s horror films. 30s-50's were classis years in horror films. this film will outlive us all. GREAT FUN. Still packs a wallop. thanks. TOMK
Yes 1958 I was 6 years old, saw this at the movies and it scared the crap out of me. What really got me was the opening credits have a very distinguishable mountain in the backdrop, it was filmed in Victorville, California where I lived, it can be seen from all over town. In my mind that made it all real. Creeped me out looking at the mountain for some time after seeing the movie.
I agree loved these old sci fi films. I can remember going to the local movie theater sat. afternoons. That would be a special day just for us kids, our parents would drop us off and we'd go see these sci fi movies.
