  • Goldfish can live up to 25-30 years, sometimes longer but only in an aquarium with a lot of space and healthy water and diet. Temperature of goldfish should be 19-20 C. This is their required temperature and also stops them from wanting to feed as much as thier metabolism slows down so only requires a maximum of feeding three times a week. They can reach up to a maximum of 36 centimeters. Good mixed diet such as flakes, pellets, frozen bloodworms will do them good. Hope this helps!

  • Have a goldfish in 55 gallon tank with plants such as Vals, swords, ferns, and crypts. 74 degree is the perfect temp for fish and plants.

  • My goldfish would stay still for 2 seconds and then float to the top and then swim back down is it dieing

  • my goldfish ranchu is turning color from gold to white. its almost completely white. would you know something about that ?

  • @ATP6TS some goldfish do others dont

  • my goldfish is 5 years this year wtf

    lol

  • @shadow20girl he said easily

  • can we keep like.... 21 goldfish in a 75cm (length) aquarium?

  • there so cheap its 1.80 for dozen of them where i live

  • @peterpanpipes at least once a week

  • How often should water be changed for goldfish? Also, how? My dad's goldfish are filthy, and my sister hardly ever cleans out the water, and when she does, it ends up clogging the filters and looking worse. I think it's cruel.

  • Sure, goldfish live up to 5 years....... wonder why mine is over 15 years.......these local fish stores giving out false information, i give up!

  • i stopped the video because of the ads.

  • goldfish if kept in a good aquarium can live to 65 years my first goldfish are 8 years and looking great, got videos on my page of them :]

  • goldfish will eat live plants idiot

  • thats a lie you only need to clean the water once a week so they can build the bacteria they need to survive.

  • Hot to keep goldfish alive:Don't listen to these guys

  • @ScourageStar99 yes hot they are from asia guys, they will grow much faster too :]

  • @shadow20girl Goldfish can even live up to 40 years

  • @ladybirdskaterboy 65 is the oldest but ya they just need good fish keepers

  • up to five years? that's pretty short...Gold fish can easily to ten years given correct care.

  • @shadow20girl Even longer than that. When i was a kid my great grandmother (Now dead) had a 23 year old goldfish. I think the record is near the 40's. Sadly it died a year later though.

  • my two goldfish lived for 5 years and we just set them free in a nearby lake. they got really big

  • @hammyxpertandmore y didnt u just buy another tank or make a pond

  • @JDCredible well, probably what most people will tell you, we couldn't really afford that. plus we weren't prepared for HUGE goldfish

  • @hammyxpertandmore well actually its really easy to make a pond i had help from my friend and i bought baby tadpoles, koi, and some other stuff like i put some loaches(dojo loaches)

  • I didn't learn anything from Mr.Obvious in the video!

  • What kind off gold fish is that

  • goldfish can live up to 25-30 years and can grow a 23 inches if kept clean and healthy in a very big pond and not from petstores like petsmart and petco breeding them yourselves is better (common goldfish)

  • @XxstryaexX1 Local pet stores are good too, they tend to take good care of their fish unlike pet smart and petco. Also, fancy goldfish do not live as long as commons, they only live about 15 years max.

  • @fncsuks they are better but still not in the requirement to live as long as a homebred one and it could take as long as 3gen to make it look like its from the wild again

  • @XxstryaexX1 There is no way to make a goldfish look like its from the wild, even homebreed. Goldfish in the wild are a greenish color.

  • 3 of my 4 goldfish died one month after their birthday. 1 of 'em is still alive. He's right here beside me right now.

  • Number one. The fish in the tank he has them in are NOT goldfish but asian fan tails. Number 2. a goldfish should be kept in a 62oC tank not 70oC.

  • @KoBrAmC2k8 Are you serious? Fantails were created in the west and they ARE a goldfish variety.

There are some parts which the guy in the video said are wrong; goldfish can live well over 10 years easy with proper care.

  • @KoBrAmC2k8 - yes, but they are still of the goldfish family.

  • expertvillage is a joke

  • um, goldfish can live up to 40 years, the oldest goldfish was 43 when he died.

  • with the right care goldfish can live upto 20 years, not 5 years. some have even been known to live for 40 years

  • Totally, I got one from my brother. it's white and this guy is four years old, and as big as my oscars, he's really hyper and just the boss of the tank now, with 3 demspey's, 1 coy, 1 violet goby, 1 8in pleco, and 1 chocolate catfish. I had no idea that gold fish could turn out to be this satisfying.

  • Erm - You know in the Tank are those dead Fish ? :O If they are - He can't make Fish live longer ...

  • lol this guy is sooo dumb, they live up to 20 years. what dumb ppl

  • @WheresWaldoTV thats why i dont listen to these people

  • i actually wanted to see how to make my brothers black moor grow faster

  • i know. i got 2 fishes that is still liveing for 5 years.the other one is 1 month.

  • thanks i have had my goldfish 1 year

  • @katie1073

    Maybe its Old =/

You need to know what is the Meaning if like black fins

    I don't Know Really

    Search it on The Internet

  • he said easily noob

  • gold fish can live up to 5 years??? i kept a goldfish for 13 years and it still looks fine.

  • Goldfish Can Live Up too 50 Years! and Grow up to 18 inches!

  • the longest recorded age for a gold fish was alittle over 4o years, i saw it on yahoo news a while ago, i dont remember what kind it was, i just figure either the person knew what he was doing or it was just one lucky fish

  • why your fishes is floating like dead

  • Comment removed

  • My grandpa had three gold fish in horrid conditions in his backyard pond for six years. When the pond became too much maintenance for him, my brother and I scooped the gold fish out and put them in a 20 gallon for a few weeks and finally into a 55 gallon community tank in my room. They have been alive for nine years now and are thriving in their new surroundings.

  • @mrdansoko thats good!do your grandpa have a filter in that pond?

  • @mrdansoko how much waz the 55g tank? im planin on gettin an oscar and yeah i knows about gettin 75 but like i think that will be fine cuz my bud haz 2 in a 40 gallon for teh last 8 years

  • thoose are weird looking goldfish

  • Goldfish can live up to 20 years, and they need 10 gallons of water a for fancy's and 20 gallons for single tailed. What a fucking retard.

  • chris you can shut up. your wong. goldfish take a lot of care and are not "simple". and just so you know a lot of times its hard to keep it clean. SHUT UP!!!!! YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERT BITCH!

  • can anyone tell me how many litres are in a gallon? I thought 10 litres would be good enough room for 1 goldfish

  • it is way to small.

i dont know the liter to gallon conversion, but i would say at least a ten gallon tank .

    now to critique.

goldfish can easily live for 75 years, you cant keep them that long becuase you dont, know hwat you are doing.

gold fish will eat all but a few plants, like onion plant.

  • first of all, I was asking how many litres would roughly equal 1 gallon. I never mentioned anywhere that I had a fish in 10 litres of water. Goldfish cannot live 75 years, and your the brainiac that doesn't know what there talking about. Maybe you should critique your own comments before posting. I apologize if your first language is not English, because your comment would make more sense

  • i am sorry if you felt threatened by my response i was just giving my oppinion.

as for the goldfish lifespan, goldfish can live well into their thirties, with the oldest being 43, i had a bad statistic from what i believed to be a reliable source.

i do not see the need for your rudeness however, and i theirfore i believe you must have been distracted and were only trying to politely show my the error in my response.

i am sorry if i offended anybody but will not appologize,

  • i feel that my one mistake is no were near the enormity or frequency of mistakes and misnomers supplied by the "Experts" who make these videos.

furthermore, i am not pretending to be an expert, however i can garantee that i am more educated in the marine environment than they are, and since i am only newly 15, that should say a lot.

  • I think the comment you made wasn't directed at me, but you hit the reply button instead of hitting the post a text message.

As for your comments, good choice in words for describing the "Experts"

That being said, do you know where goldfish originated from?

  • the comment wasn't directed at you, the critique was of the video.

as for where they come from, goldfish orriginated in china. i believe the body morph and species were actual bred from carp. (correct me if i am wrong, the person who told me this is the same who told me that they live for 75 years.)

  • Wow that was ignorant!

The oldest goldfish ever recorded lived 43 years and it was a comet.

Also there are several plants that MOST goldfish will not eat like Anubias and Java Fern, some will eat them but most will not. You are right about the onion though.

  • you sir, are the ignorant one, commenting without reading all that had been said, is like voting without reading more than the campaigne ads on the tv.

if you can susatain reading the rest of the responses before yours, you will see that i explained and corrected myself.

so, i would just like to end with.....

    Wow that was ignorant!

  • further more, if you look up the words all, but, and few in the dictionary, you may be able to obtain a better grasp of the informatrion presented!

  • You corrected yourself AFTER I made that coment you idiot!

    75 years... LOL

    Wow that was extremely ignorant.

  • actualy i corected myself days before you responded.

again, you need to be able to read, but the little grey time period in parenthesis, in my case, 3 weeks, that is how long ago i posted.

    hth

  • It's not exact but 1 liter is just barely over 1/2 of a gallon. So if you have a 10L you have about a 5gal. This size tank is not big enuf for the long term health of a goldfish. I would sugest getting a 30-40gal or about a 60-80L tank and you could have 3-4 fish for the longterm! :D

    good luck

  • 10 liters is 2.5 gallons, and that is way too small for any goldfish. If you want a fancy, they can get away with a minimum of 20 gallons each, where feeder/common goldfish need at least 55 gallons each.

    Cheers!

  • what is moral of this story.

Studie if you get an animal how take proper care of it. Dog, cats, fish. It is not a accesoire but a living creature that can feel pain and joy. Have respect for youre anmials you owe that to them.

    greetzzzz

  • the only way too get porper care of your goldfish is this way. Some people say they need even more water (55 gallon) and I say.. the more the better, they do often more better in a pond because they have more water ..at home people don't know how too care for their fish and at the pettstore they tell you only how they get five... In this condiotions you maybe get Baby fry! Because the golfish gets really happy. I had a lot of baby fry and it is a pleasure too see my fish are happy.

  • a half our.. let it then rust for then minutes and let the fish free. Enyoy your fish! I think it is pointles too say that a bowl is not suiteble for a fish...only if you want he dies at 5 years old. There is not enough airsurface too provide enough air too breathe. There can;t get enough gallons in it. So they die of suffocation. They get stressed because they see everythin deformed and they nitrate level gets really high and so the amonnia. So they often die from poisening.

  • size 0f 80-to100 centimter. Get a filter with active coals too clean the thank and get the water ph stable. Treat the water and put al the plants en stones in the aquarium. Get some fluid with goo bacteria and put it in the water. turn on the filter and let the water without fish run day and night through the filter.

Get your fish after a week abd put de bag open in the aquarium. Don't let the fish out!!! Let the bag float and put every 10 minutes a cup of aquarium water. Repead this for 30

  • for making your own gelatine foor for goldfish.

Provide a lot of plants in the tank.. they get rid of the nitrate and other waste and the can eat from it.. couse goldfish are herbivores. Feet them 2 a 3 times a day smal portions and soke the food in water for 2 minutes. Al the air wil get out and they get not as easley swim blather problems.. they can eat themself too dead. Provide in the tank something they can hide in if they cat scared. If u stard up the aquarium get a thank with at least

  • treat the water with watertreatment.. Use every week a serum that nuetralize the Chloride and nitrate. Goldfish are very dirty fish so a filter is reccomended.. and a airstreamer too. The key is too get them enough water 10 gallon for each golfish with a minimum of 7 gallon.

Feet the goldfish a proper diet, live food (brine schrimp) banana, spinach, steamed carrot, water flees, strawberry, tuna, and nomal (sinking) golfish pellets (hakari is a great brand) On the internet there are recepies

  • 5 years?????? A (normal)goldfish get easely 35-45 years and that is a normal age! They are adults when they are 2-3 years old. So if they die with 5 it is the same a 20 year old persen dies.

The fantail goldfish lives easely up too 20.

You need a big big thank how smaller they stay the sooner they die. You need too change every 2 weeks (if you have no filter every week)

and before you adding the water make sure it is the same temperature as the water of the aquarium and

  • the longest goldfish ever lived is 49 years.. and they can live about 10 years if taken care correctly

  • man my gold fish got sucked up from my filter and i wasted so much for that gold fish

  • Up to 5 years?! Goldfish can live for 25 years. 70 degrees fahrenheit?! Goldfish need their water to be 64 degrees or cooler. He doesn't seem to know much about goldfish.

  • Thanks professor

  • Oh stuff it!

  • lol...bitch

  • honestly

goldfish do live long or even longer

    but the thing is..

the more u care about your goldfish

the more ur goldfish will die

because ur always cleaning the water

and goldfish do need their good bacteria

and plus...goldfish live in dirty water

thats y i suggest that goldfish live longer in ponds than in aquariums

  • yes that made sense, my fish died because cuz i keep cleaning the water

  • Real Fish Advice From Those Who Know Best, Aquarists. TheExoticFish . com

  • my goldfish are 7 years old :I

  • I have goldfish that i got as a feeder for 2 md. oscars. • goldfish are gross dirty pig fish yuck

  • i also dislike them

  • NO! They are not! I find them to be very clean. You are a "gross dirty pig fish ."

  • a foot! WTF

  • you can feed them flowers????

  • yes they can all breed with one another. as andrewwajt62 said as well

  • a goldfish is a goldfish. they are not different species! it is just a different type, not a diff species!!!!

  • Sorry, but that's not strictly correct. A species is a group of animals capable of breeding with each other. Not all goldfish can breed with each other.

  • Golfish are all the same scitificly named species. They are just selectivly bred to look the way they do. Any type of golfish can breed with onother type.
