ACTUALLY it's an Ella Jenkins song they BOTH covered it.

It's actually not a Lizz Wright song. It's a Ella Jenkins song from her album "Rhythms of Childhood" (1963).
Devendra Banhart covered this song and it was released on his album "Niño Rojo" (2004).
Lizz Wright's version was released on her album "Dreaming Wide Awake" (2005)

you are so talented...your voice is very deep and powerful, but very bright at the same time, very blue-sy if you don't mind me saying (also you have a great subtle vibrato). i've never heard this song before, but you're able to convey the tone of it (and the melody) with an incredible sense of feeling and mood. i wish we could harmonize together!
