That is INSANE!!! And I mean that as the biggest of compliments, it's great seeing people getting into the spirit of giving in such a fun and worthwhile way!
Unfortunately, that'll never happen in the NHL. OSHA would deem it a workplace hazard, and someone in the first 15 rows would sue... Stupid Americans, can't have any fun for a good cause. I would love to see this happen at a Wings game to go to Children's Hospital or the Ted Lindsay Foundation.
Ahh, stfu with that stupid american bullsh/t. Canada's got regulations out the wazoo with a 1/5 as many people. Try catching a fish in Canada without a permit...the lake police light you up like you're robbin a f'n bank. Go live there, and make half as much money and enjoy your sh/t food and 3rd rate steaks and burgers.
@TheGooberDoo actually...OSHA would approve if you inform ahead of time and gotten permission. but i doubt OHSA ruling would apply to this, as OSHA only apply to workplace and the hocky rink does not qualify. check it out yourself.
and as for the person that liable to sue, they can't. if they did, they would only been deem cold-hearted and everyone that hear about it would prob start something against that person. then there the fact that the hocky place would post notice about this event.
@Gakahn Actually there are usually more bears then people. If you check out the Yahoo link you can see that 16,844 fans threw 23,096 bears. Obviously, some fans brought multiple bears.
I don't know how many fans were at this game but I would 1) like to know myself and 2) guess that it was less than 26k.
I like it that a simple charity donation is made into a celebration for fans who normally would not be able to throw something on the ice and have it be okay. The hockey players get to experience something fun and different and everyone wants to be the guy who starts the stuffed stuff flying! And it costs very little to execute but it's a joyous donation process! Good for you Canada... and Petro Canada.
