I donate blood regularly and the hypodermics used by the nurses are more painful than the bite, and I don't find find the needles particularly painful either, just a little prick.
People say we don't understand spiders..but they're nothing to understand.
They show no emotion, no effection towards humans, and you can never tell if they're going to bite you or not. Why not kill them? They don't benefit us in any way at all.
@Doodorz Spiders are a huge benefit to us. They eat a lot of the pests. Spiders are one of the most beneficial species on this Earth. Take them all out and it would be a major disruption to the eco system. They will only bite if they are provoked, usually coming at them suddenly and there's no escape route for the spider, or if you squeeze one accidentally inside your clothes or try picking one up like someone would do with a beetle, or poking one with your finger in an antagonizing way.
I have a huge spider collection and that's where you're wrong..There's lot to understand about them...Of course they show emotion...they run away if they're scared or throw threat postures, first 2 pair of legs raised + fangs bared (signs that it will bite) if they're angry. Torn80cj is correct. Without spiders, the insect population will take over and more people will get infected by west nile. Just think of these spiders eating mosquitoes that carry this. They're saving lives
most of the spiders out there aren't even remotely dangerous to human beings, with FEW exceptions like black widows, funnel webs, banana spiders, brown recluse. I own over 100 tarantulas for 16 years...big hairy ones, 5-10 times bigger than the spider you've seen.
I once thought like you until I overcame my fear and bought my first tarantula, that was brown and pink. Little spiders aren't cute but tarantulas are, go see my videos, you'll appreciate their colors and beauty
@Jon3800 If I saw a tarantula crawling on my bed, I'd freak out. If I saw a dog crawling on my bed, I'd say "aww, that's so cute!" just like most people would. But I couldn't kill a tarantula to be honest. I couldn't kill anything that's bigger than a mosquito. I'd probably release it into my back yard, but not kill it. Too violent for me :x
@myblackabyss just the fact they have venum in them :) i have one next to my house i fed it the other day lol then saem night saw it in my house thought it was sayin thanks lol i didnt wanna kikll iy
check out my video to see a beutiful wolf spdier with an ornage stripe down her face feeding on large crickets. about a 2 inch leg span on my fully grown female. also cheack out my king baboon.
Would you mind sending me one? I'm not sure if I could pay but please respond. There are no spiders in my area and I really want one to keep flies out and because I LOVE arachnology.
You say there are no spiders in your area, but I bet if you take an LED headlamp out at night and look carefully you will find some wolfs.
As much as I would like to help out, I don't do free postage, nor do I charge an excess. As long as you cover the cost of a container and express postage, I'll use my free time to catch one.
Sad as it may be, your best bet may simply be a Venus fly trap...
Yeah I know they bite, one got into my bed during the night and gave me a nasty nip. I didn't think you could get bitten by a spider in Scotland but there are tons of wolfs about this year for some reason.
theres no such thing as a wolf spider the size of a dinner platew, yes we do have plenty WOlf SPiders in the USA, their everywhere around here in Lynchburg, biggest ones ive ever seen got to about 5-inches long with maybe a 4-5 inch legspan, but thats about as big as they EVER get, and the ones you find of that size tend to be very very old ones, ones that have survived for some years id guess, the big ones arent very common, their related to Tarantulas
wow man you put me off australia im from englan and i am scared to death of spiders only beacuse of the teeth snakes and stuff dont bother me and your saying you want big ones :P nuts you are
Aah well, more of Australia for the rest of us then.
What kind of snakes do you get in England anyway? We have Tiger snakes and Taipain's, pretty much the top 20 most venomous/deadly animals live in Australia.
fucking helll that is one scary spider

Annoying perhaps, but I wouldn't say painful.

@Jon3800 If Mosquitoes didn't exist, spiders wouldn't have to exist. Insects just suck.
And of course they run away if they're scared, or throw "threat postures" but they're not worth risking your life over.
They aren't even cute..

Hey mate,
These aren't actually the best species to catch flies as they are ground dwelling predators.
The best for indoor web-spinners would be your standard Daddy-Long-Legs or possibly the Black House spider. (But I won't handle any house spiders)

@azudai45
Pardon?
myblackabyss 1 year ago
@myblackabyss you mentioned you wouldn't handle them, why not?
azudai45 1 year ago
@azudai45
I added this video so long ago I'm unsure of what I said or posted, but most likely I said I wouldn't due to the nature of the venom they would carry.
Wolf spiders are like Huntsmans, they bite but it's not bad, nothing comes of it.
With a lot of others e.g. Mouse they are not only serious biters but are often aggressive too, so it's not worth the risk.
myblackabyss 1 year ago
@myblackabyss I had no idea house spiders had venom...egad

Mate, you're a guy with Crassipes and you some some little Wolf Spiders?
They're common as mate, I'm surprised you can't find them.
I see 100's in my local park at night when I go looking.
I'm not sure if you're allowed to send them across states in Australia, but I'll try.
Would you want them live or pinned down? (I'd freeze them humanely)
Just contact me through the message system or by email, we'll work something out.
myblackabyss 2 years ago
lol woah... i would NEVER do that hahah
scjason420 2 years ago
Why not mate, they're nothing like the American versions.
I'm in WA, it's the spiders over East you have to be worried about.
Except for Red backs, they're everywhere.
myblackabyss 2 years ago
I don't know, but spiders creep me out.
scjason420 2 years ago
They don't bite? We have tons of wolf spiders here in the USA. Specially around Ohio. I found one the size of a fucking dinner plate!
ColdFire417 2 years ago
Well, they do bite. (As I found out first hand)
So far I've only found small ones, we don't have many massive spiders here in Australia, just small deadly ones.
