When we were kids, my mum used to send my brothers and I out to pick (We had everything at our camp: Wild blueberries, wild strawberries, wild raspberries, wild blackberries, chokecherries, you name it) and her and my gramps would make the pie crusts.

I've never had such fresh pie since then.

Those blueberry bushes are like trees! When I lived in Northern Ontario, Canada the bushes never grew much higher than your knees. Too cold, I guess, if they used all of the growing season to gain height they never would have bore fruit.

Well I love my former culture, what better way to grow up, it brings a whole new perspective to to the table, I am not upset that I was Amish. I am however wishing it was not so sheltered, i.e. more education, less of the health risk etc, which claimed so many of my people's lives... My dad being parilised, my brother dead, my grandma also had an accident where she landed in a really wierd spot right behind the horse, and she was in her 80's at the time...

OMG the things are on trees!!!!

Our wild blueberry bushes are only about 6-8" tall (check out my blueberry picking vid to see them if you want). You have to crouch way down to get them.

These are not wild, but this is the first time we went to this one, they had signs up for it, and we followed it to a backwoods area till we finally found it...

They said that they were supplying a restaraunt till that place burned down this spring, so now they opened it to the public...
