The movie was about a famous Novgorodian (Russian) victory over the Teutonic Knights (Germans) and the Livonian Order (Baltic States) in something like the 11th century. The Russians figured that making a movie out of it would inspire the Russian people to stand up against the Germans once more in WWII. It worked pretty well.

Actually it's from the soundtrack to Sergei Eisenstein's film 'Alexander Nevsky'. Prokofiev actually wrote the score to the film. It also has the battle scene every movie director since has tried to get inspiration from.

it's not really. the original is excellent. however it would have been nice to have the piece that lbp used specifically for the game. in all cases, it's preference; just in this case, i could only get the original as it was the only one available at the time i did all this.

I also found a part of this same track extremely similar to the score that Joel McNeely produced for the Star Wars game "Shadows of the Empire".
