It looked like static caused that. Some gas stations warn u not to get in your car while fueling because u can get a static charge especially if u have colth interior.
she probably did the smartest thing possible by taking it out and laying it down away from her car and going to get help. she also didnt bug out like a normal blonde and kept her cool. kudos to her not buggin out and pullin the trigger on the pump. and cigarettes dont ignite gas, i can put a cigarette out in a puddle of gas, its the fumes that ignite.
The reason it lit on fire was the contact her sweater made with her car, which caused a spark, which then lit the gas. it could happen to anyone and is quite common.
Once again proving DON'T GET BACK IN THE VEHICLE TO BUILD UP STATIC ELECTRICITY! There are so many people that do that and I am always just wanting to get away from the gas station before they set off a fire and blow me and them up. IDIOTS!
