Loco is a 1200hp machine, of a batch of 50 built by General Electric of 1963/65 vintage. As far as I know, the trains out of Thonburi to Kanchanaburi are the only passenger trains to be hauled by these locos. Elsewhere they are confined to freight. And they sound quite nice too!
@gatemancf - when I was a little kid (long time ago), these were hauling Special Express train throughout Thailand. I have fond memories for these old beasts!!!
