I hate my legs too. I'm afraid I may never be happy with my body. Thank you!

  • I just wanted to commend your bravery, my mom was 378.4#s when she went in for Ruex-en-y Gastric Bypass surgery April 2004, she is now about 145 lbs and has allot of skin, no boobs and her legs make it hard for her to move around. She had complication from the stoma closing many times (6 or 7) having to go in and reopen it but she is doing great now all these years after surgery. She hates the skin and at 69 with only state insurance she don't think she will ever be rid of it. Keep it up!

  • it is so hard for the family her lost rip

  • Soft huggs, and 1 million thank yous!! Totally a newbie here, 7weeks post op lap band. Your beauiful, Your brave, seeing the fear and hesitation in your eyes brought your soul right through the screen. TY TY TY!!! and BTW

CONGRATS on being the FIRST ever recieptant of WLSFA recon surgery!!!!! prominse to do a vid after that???

  • OH! who cares!!! You should be proud! I am proud of ya! You will be ok, but the worst part of being obese is over, I got the vein thing going on too!

  • Honestly - I rather have hanging skin, than stay fat! You look good anyway, i bet you feel good though, huh!!!?

  • I am really proud of you. I have some of the same issues and I still have more weight to lose.Hopefully insurance will start to cover more than just the tummy tuck.Thank you for your courage and honesty

  • wow - you are truly amazing at showing as much as you did. I know for me I am not yet at goal and I alsohave heaps of skin, but still a fair amount of fat in there. I to have an apron which I am not sure I can show anywhere near as much as you.

  • Try dry brushing it will help a bit until you go for the surgery. There are some great vlogs on youtube on drybrushing.

  • I just wanted to say how proud of you i truly am... i have only lost 53 pounds/ 33 since surgery and i am super nervous about making my excess skin video... You have inspired me since 4 months b4 my surgery and i want to thank you.

  • Thank you so much from sharing! It really helps us newbies! I vow to follow in your footsteps and do my own excess skin video when I get 1/2 way to goal (50 lbs) gone and again if I get to 100lbs lost. Hopefully I'll be able to help people the way you have.

  • Sarah Bean girl my hats off to you.. & I sault you for what you shared in your video.. It does take alot of courage & strength to open up & bare all.. For you & all those others in the wls community that's posted these documentries are my heros by far!! And I wish you get what you want @ the end of it all.. And look at it this way of how much you've succeeded in your journey & how much you've bettered your life by lossing 200lbs Girl I am very proud of you!! Take care hugs & ♥ to you!!

  • Thanx Sarah for doing this video. I have started out at 396lbs and now at 298 but only see a little bit if excess skin. But this does prepare me for what is to be expect when I get to my initial weight. Thank you again and I want to say that u are an inspiration to me.

  • I'm proud of you for sharing your story and struggles. You are inspiring others! You are very brave, Sarah. Everything will work out. :)

  • Love you for this sarah....its ok,, somehow, someway you will come out of this on top!

  • I just love that you showed how brave you are. We gain when we see others that strive beyond their starting point. I am glad you were able to show what you did show.

I hate my legs because the band of discoloration where the blood pooled and did not go up my legs. It looks so odd. Nothing can be done for it, I was told. I know you will succeed. You will get the surgery you need to tighten up!

  • I hear about the nervousness about exposing how you are. I too lost more than 200 pounds, and know the pain of that excess skin especially as your exercise. Just rest assured you are very brave and while I am sure it will sound like just words, you have done a service to everyone else. Thank you!

  • Sarah you're so brave to share all of this with the world. You're a beautiful girl and no one should hate your or comment badly from such bravery. You're a beautiful woman and you should be so proud of all you accomplished. I hope the varicose veins aren't painful - I've heard they can be painful for some people. I for one appreciate your honesty and your bravery. Hugs to you!!

  • i admire your strength!!! im still the fat girl whose just lost in my own world... i hope some day i can be like you-full of courage.....thanks for being so strong and brave and honest with me and others like me.... NEVER GIVE UP!!!!! thanks again!!! Megan-

  • What a beautiful person you are, good luck on get this taken care of to what you want. I'm 4 1/2 mos. post-op and -80+lbs, things just aren't where they are suppose to be.

  • I simply adore you. Your bravery and heart in showing this to us... it's easy sitting where I am right now to say "meh - excess skin isn't so bad" I bet I'm singing another tune when I've lost another 90 pounds though.

Your an inspiration thank you for sharing *hugs*

  • I've consted four surgeons and stll haven't found a good prognosis for knee skin problems. I got varicose veins after loss that I didn't have prior to wt loss. Scheduled for tum Tuch in two weeks. I'll worry about the rest of it later.

  • I heard on the news recently that vericose veins are "unhealthy," so if you have good insurance (or get good insurance) and a good doctor, you might be able to have the vein removal covered or partially covered... You're so beautiful and so brave to show this to all of us! Don't get discouraged! :o)

  • Hi beautiful! My skin is about the same as yours, actually. In general I sort of like it right now, almost like a badge or like battle scars or something, but I'm with you on the lower belly - ugh! It's getting old fast though. It's hard to find clothes that accommodate the skin without being too big elsewhere. Anyway, just wanted to sympathize. I definitely feel you and admire your bravery.

  • I just love you to pieces, Sarah! You are awsome!!! Denise

  • Thank you, Sarah! I have a question, by the time I have lost all my excess weight I will also have lost around 200 lb. I too had a highest recorded weight of 355. As of now I have lost 104 lb over 3 years (though I only had WLS 3 mos ago) anyway on to the question, at what point (how many lb lost approx) did you start to see the "shrinkles"? How fast did you lose the 200lb? Thanks!

  • Sarah - You are so courageous for posting this video. You are absolutely beautiful, and I hope that you can get whatever surgery you need to see yourself that way. Whatever the cost, YOU are worth it.

  • I don't even know you...but I love you! Thank YOU so much for sharing this...for finding the courage to share it. It's so helpful for me...I'm still at the beginning of this journey and I started out at 376. So really...thank you thank you thank you!! You're beautiful!

  • Congrats for the encouragement to post this video. So many people need to see the changes. It's nice to know that you're not in it alone, either.

    Dena

  • Wow! Look how far you have come. You are beautiful and an inspiration.Take heart. I plan on getting reconstructive surgery, too. I already know that I will have have a major droopy stomach, since I already have one (due to a c-section). Losing weight will only make it worse. But I agree, WLS is worth it. We are works in progress. I'm not sure we'll ever be completed, but you're only in process right now. Keep that in mind, when you look at your body. You're not done yet.

  • You are one amazing person Sarah =) I know it wasn't easy to make this video, & I am so proud of you for doing it. I do my best to camouflage my loose skin too, but I know that I will have it removed when I can afford to. I wear compression shirts & shorts under everything, and they do a pretty good job for now. My legs, arms, lower stomach, back & man boobs are a train wreck! UGH! But I'll take the skin over the fat ANY DAY! =)

  • Don't sweat it! You are not the only one that has these problems. It does not change you as a person. You are still the sweet girl that everybody loves. Hope you get your surgery soon!

  • Hope you get the surgery you desire, but it certainly can't make u any more special than u already are. Thanks for being brave enough to share Xx

  • I'm in awe of you Sarah you never cease to amaze me!

    Ian

  • part 2 - I wrap one on my lower abs and another on my upper abs up to the bra line. It really makes you sweat but the compression is what's key for me. It makes it a pain to get ready but i don't go a workout without them! I find my shapers at sears and they're about $20 on sale and the waist belts are about $5-$10 each depending where u get them. I find the cheapest ones at Ross. They also have them at Kmart, Target or any of those stores in the fitness section.

  • Good for you and keeping it real! I was just gonna say u need to get a job with good health insurance because I'm sure Dr.Katzen's team would be able to get you covered! Also, what I found helpful while exercising and running, I ALWAYS wear a shaper that starts just below my bra line and goes down past my knees. It helps keep everything in place while running. I tried running without it and couldn't stand everything shaking. I also wear under the shaper those sweat belts. to be continued....

  • Sarah you are so beautiful and the skin doesn't make one bit a difference in who YOU are. I just love your videos and I am sure you have gotten through so much and you will be getting through the skin also. Thanks for your bravery

  • Sarah, you are such a brave person for sharing what you could. You have nothing to feel bad about or feel embarrassed of, that skin isn't ideal but until you can have it removed it is a sign of how AMAZING a job you did at lose weight. Cold comfort I know.

  • You're absolutely awesome! You've got to be one of the bravest people I know for even putting this on youtube. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for sharing Sarah....

  • you are so brave! your videos have been an inspiration to me as I began my gastric bypass journey 10 weeks ago. You are a beautiful young lady, skin and all!!!

  • Sarah, you are AMAZING!! I can only imagine how many people you have helped to not feel alone by posting this. Gutsy move girl. Huge love and respect your way!!!

    BTV Mike

  • seems like the veins would make surgery on your legs necessary.

  • Thank you for sharing this. I have always been curious as to what I have to look forward to. My weightloss has been rather slow, but I am really nervous about what my skin will do. (I didn't mean for that to rhyme.)

  • i can relate to the arms...planning my brachioplasty in Oct... surgeon recommends it in the fall/winter both for sun reasons and for sleeves on shirts because you will be wearing the compression garments. i don't have any info to share on the other parts because i've not ventured there - yet! but u know what, you're beautiful with or without the skin...but i understand your desire for surgery someday. best wishes!! i think my brother had some vein surgery after his 300 pound weightloss.

  • You are THE bravest, most adorable and beautiful person I have ever known! I know it must have taken ALL your nerve to do this, but you should be very proud of yourself. It is very informative. It shows a lot of people that WLS is not a quick and simple fix. You've come so far and are a work in progress. You have been such an inspiration to more people than you will ever know...including myself. You give me the motivation it takes to drag my ass to the gym every day. Thank you!

  • WOW, you're proof that wls really works. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

    xoxpxo

  • Sarah, I know that was so hard for you, and it meant so much, and was so helpful to those of us in this community. I am praying you will be able to get the surgery/s you want. You have worked so hard and come so far! You are Such and INSPIRATION for what success at this journey can look like! And with your skin off, you probably do weigh about 145 lbs or less already. What a beautiful, kind and loving woman you are. And you did it!

  • Great Video Sarah, thank you for sharing. Excessive skin is unfortunately part of the problems we are left with after so much weight loss. Good thing is that you are much more healthy now than I am sure you have ever been and that is more important than any look could be. I Comend you on a job well done so far and wish you all the luck in the world on the rest of your journey and reconstruction....Jeff

  • Kudos to you for having the bravery to post! You have come a long way so don't be ashamed of your "evidence". Excess skin is definitely something I am concerned about but at this moment, I can't wait til I'm able to complain about my saggy stomach! That sounds a little weird lol. Basically I'm saying I'd rather have excess skin than my current excess fat. I'm hoping and praying that I don't have too much though. Thanks so much for sharing!!

  • Great video Sarah!!!! You have come so far on your "Journey", you look wonderful.
