People, watch //Roots. It shows Kuhn's awakening on screen and Pi's apparently takes place not too long before. I may not have watched all of //Roots, but I definitely watched to that point.

Kuhn and Pi awakened because they were exposed to a new threat, which we all know as AIDA. They weren't infected when they awakened. Haseo had a similar awakening against Bordeaux.

Sakubo awakened when infected with AIDA, I'm pretty sure. Endrance and Ovan are the only questionable awakenings.

(BTW, if you count Kuhn and Pi's awakenings as "normal", Haseo's was too. Atoli was infected when she awakened.)

Epitaphs react to strong emotions, if they are activated by AIDA, it doesn't mean that they are awakened. Innis awakened some time after the Moon Tree incident, it awakened because she cut herself loose from Sakaki for good, and because of the emotional stress.

I personally think that Gorre awakened when Bo developed his second personality. Gorre has to faces, so it was attracted to Sakubo and attached itself to her (the PC is female...).
