@angeloh1990 There's a list of ideas on the website,1 guy ties a rope to an upstairs window frame and abseils down into a wheely bin of ice water then climbs back up and repeats until tired. I did standard road & off road running, all over weights program in the gym. Most of the individual obstacles arn't that bad, serious injuries aside it's the determination to keep going that decides if you finish or not. I saw plenty of smokers & people in fancy dress finish though it did me in!

Nothing they were doing was that extrodinary and I think the aim for most of these people was to complete the course.

The worst thing about the race would have been the cold and having wet gear clinging to you. A good idea to wear shorts like the winner.

Regarding the SAS and 5 days in Scotland and going home to Manchester. Hereford has always been home of the SAS. I was a commando and used to have to spend days up in the Brecon Beacons without getting caught by everyone and his dog.
