@dbyo88 A masterpiece, indeed. When I found this song, a few months back, I listened to it several times a day... for several days. This is SO unlike me. I get burned-out on shit ultra-quickly.... and I couldn't get enough of hearing this song.... and here I am.... so, I obviously STILL can't get enough of hearing it.
Well put.... a masterpiece, to be sure.
Hmmm..... think I'll hit the replay... just ONE more time!! Honest! =)
his guitar is tuned down a full step to D so basically tune your guitar down and have a listen. working it out by ear is much more beneficial than tabs
You misguided lil bastards, i oughta kick all your asses! ha! Kidding.. I just dont have any friends?, Anyone who likes buckethead is a friend of mine even if they dont like me or except me as friend.. Ive had to fight people talking shit on buckethead..(not a lot but it happened).. Especially Slosh fans! And i liked Slosh before i heard all the shit against buckethead on youtube.. why do they say things hatefull toward him deliberately??
@Fluffypopcicle Funny.... I don't think I would ever have made such an odd connection. Although... maybe you're referring to Mastodon's Crack The Skye (dedicated to Brann's sister...), but either way, I think they would have VERY struggling tempos. BUT.... I can see the correlation regarding the offhand key changes, and strange (but so beautiful) harmonies.
That would be pretty sick. If you mean very struggling tempos as in they have different styles when it comes to tempos, I don't think Buckethead would have trouble adjusting. He fits well in almost any musical scenario I could think to put him in.
@Fluffypopcicle I think I just meant with Brann's INSANE fills & skip-beats & rolls... they often overshadow ALL the guitar work goin' on for split-seconds here & there. They're like 'the point' at that moment, ya know? But, surely BH could fill in 'the blanks'... if there be such things in Mastodon songs. It would be sick, for sure!
most of them only direct at his laber theirfore you have to make yourself a acoount their otherwise you have po pay more on amazon or something like this !! You cant buy it on i tunes but they listed his albums and where it was published !!
Is it just me or does it feel like that, after his break for illness, B has come back with much more energy than before? I mean just compare the last albums before the break such as Real Diamond or Shadows between the Sky with the stuff afterwards like Capt. EO or Happy Holidays and now these 3 single songs, all very dramatic powerful und full of energy...
@1716frank Don't hold me to it, but I'm pretty sure it's the usual drum machine. Whatever program buck uses can get a wide variety of sounds. Just listen to the almost 311 drum sound on some "Albino Slug". Not to mention the sounds on the "holiday LE" .
@1716frank dan monti possibly did them...im positive its not brain...all of bucketheads albums that have heavy double bass are usuay done by dan...but im sure buckethead has picked it up himself by now(programing drums)
As far as buckethead songs go, i don't think this is much better than middle of the road. I personally came name at least 100 songs of his that are better. It's still a good song, though.
I thought to do the same bb.. directly from his website in HD, but, u did it now.,.. congratulations ,.. well for u.. Brian is the best on the world !!!!!
Good song! seems like buckethead has a new favorite nba player. now i dont want to sound like a guitar hero fanboy (honestly i havent even played that) but jordan is still the best out of these basketball themed songs followed by king james, lebron's hammer, then iceman.

@chemoman1 I viewed the source code of the page where the song was and saw it said "crack-the-sky.mp3 so I then typed in bucketheadland com/crack-the-sky.mp3 and that was the direct link to the song! I then posted the link on a forum, right clicked it and clicked "save link as..." and saved it as an mp3.
THANK YOU!!!! I don't have any equipment for directly ripping the audio except from Youtube, so thank you very much man. I need this song. His solo is taking it back to Brazos sounds. The sweep tapping totally sounds like him, but like in a new way. It seems like he had some form of revelation and changed a scale or something. Either way, I like what he is doing.
The backing track kind of reminds me of his "Pepper's Ghost/Decoding The Tomb of Bansheebot" with some "A Real Diamond in The Rough" to top it off. What a perfect mix.
@CFloBucket It definitely has that type of thing. I could see this maybe even being on "Albino Slug", but the solo is different. I don't know how to put my finger on it. Maybe with time, I will learn the secret.
Ultraninja, great Sports Center reference in this piece @ 1:02-1:22. Will Buckethead play this and Lebrontron in Cleveland this April?

They'd hose him down with water, and steal his little friends.
Now late at night he'd sneak off to the graveyard all alone,
And play a soapbox guitar to the faces made of stone.
