Just as the (previous) writer said, I too left my dear Colorado nearly 30 yrs ago. We all have regrets. Leaving Colorado (Longmont) has to rank # 1 on my list of all time regrets. I often listen to this beautiful song that so accurately describes Colorado's beauty, wonders, & passions it's people hold for their state. I consider Colorado as being the greatest state in our nation; & I will always consider Colorado my home!

I remember this song circa 1973 on KHOW-AM. Do any of you remember KHOW's signature song from the weekends from this period that went, "Wonderful Weekend in the West from KHOW." ?

Wonderful song with great memories. Hal Moore was the afternoon drive-time DJ on KHOW when I had an after-school delivery job in the '60s-'70s. Every Friday after the 5:00 news he would say, "All right all of you out there, pull you car over the side of the Valley Highway, face the purple mountains majesties, and SING THE COLORADO SONG AS WE START THE WONDERFUL WEEKEND IN THE WEST." Looking around, I could see at least a third of the other drivers singing along. What way to end a work week!

Back in the late 60's I bought a LP with Up With People. I still have the LP, but it is impossible to play it because of "Colorado", which I played again and again until both the record and the record player was worn out. Great song, great cast - I still love it. Thanks for posting it

I'm almost a native - been living here for over 40 years and really would never consider living anywhere else. I've been looking for this song FOREVER! I have fond memories of all of my family stopping and listening to this song whenever it played. There was even talk at one time about making it our state song. (it didn't pass... sniff.) You made my day!

I left Colorado 30 years ago....this is my home state and Friday afternoon's we would all stop what we were doing to tune into this song....LOVE IT, WILL ALWAYS LOVE COLORADO!!!!

I fell in love with this song about 20 years before moving to the Rocky Mountain State. I had in a cassette many years ago and took a train trip from Tennessee to California and went right through Denver and the mountains. I was playing the tape as we rolled through the canyons and made the decision that someday I would live here. I'M NOT A NATIVE - BUT GOT HERE AS FAST AS I COULD. And I will not leave this phenomenal place. Thank you so much for posting it!

I remember when "Up with People" relocated to Colorado and started singing that song, it was all over the airwaves in Denver, it says it all about Colorado and it's always with some emotion that I listen to it.
