  • for he will write his words in the Hearts to whom listenes,

the Lord said, that he rewards them who search for him with all their hearts mind soul and strength,

Jesus christ is the Son who came down to pay the price for u and me, he is One with the Father in Love and relationship, The Father is in the Son and the Son in the Father, he sent his most Holy and beautifull spirit to whom repents of their evil ways and come back to christ, in christ we become a new creation of Love,

  • first of all when Jesus said for eat it for this is my body, and drink this for this is my blood,

who is Jesus? he is the Word of God that became flesh, every word that comes out of the mouth of God is food for the spirit, and brings life to the death, Jesus christ is the Word of God, when u read the scripture or hear the voice of God, or from a brother, eat the words u hear and it will become one in u, for Christ will dwell in u as King in your hearts , if u invite him and he will have supher

  • without the Holy spirit you would not understand the words of scripture, it is written by prophets and disciples who where filled by the Holy Spirit of God, and without the Holy Spirit people mis interpret the verses, search him with all your heart mind soul and strength

    2Pet 1:20-21

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  • "Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jew who was his own father can grant you eternal life if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because an ancient rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat illegal fruit from a magical tree. Once alive, He then killed himself as a sacrifice to save mankind from the Hell that he originally condemned them to."

  • ''Go by what god has told you in his holy words'' << If this is the key in getting into heaven.. then why do animals get into heaven when they can't read. Animals do bad things too. Loads of bear attacks and even house pet attacks etc... THE BIBLE IS JUST BULLSHIT DNT READ IT !

  • Jesus Is My Savior

I Accept his Eternal Life With his gift

  • Dude i think we are about done here !

The other guy is fizzling out too !

  • Remember

  • OMG again,

"WITHOUT A PARABLE HE WOULD NOT SPEAY TO THEM !

  • Yeah, he sent the multitude away (Matt 13:36). Verse 40 to 42 he is speaking to his disciples.

Clearly, judging by his disciples reaction in verse 10 he doesn't speak to them in parables.

  • I am having another bible discussion, as we speak ! That should tell you how little a threat you are !

  • Uhh.. you said you take the bible literally period !

  • And I do. You just look at verses and see the interpretation that suits you, instead of seeing that they could mean something different. Matt 13:40 is clearly a comparison, what you fail to realise is it immediately followed up in verses 41 and 42 with:

"The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

  • Lets a little, remember when Jesus said he would seperate the wheat from the weed? If everything is literal, Jesus coming to literally pick wheat.

Hey, you said i didnt !

  • Yeah, umm... I was quoting Revelation. Not Matthew

  • If it is literal, Jesus is only coming back to pick literal wheat !

  • What!

  • You dont know what my logic is, because ive only dealt in scripture with you ! Why dont you put your bible down since you dont accept what it says !

  • I'm not the one making everything out to be symbolic. Sorry I take the Bible literally.

Rev 20:10 - And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. - Nope, you must be right!

  • MY YOUNG PADIWAN !

  • You seem aggresive, is it because you have lost ?

  • Anyway unless you seen or heard these things with your own eyes or ears, you may as well be quiet! I can blurt off-the-wall slander too !

  • Dude you dont want to go there, i have not attacked you or your religion, but i could have, and been done by now ! I pretty much just drowned your burning hell. Now you are saying this scripture at jer. Jehovah is only disdaining the fact that idols were involved, not that they were sacraficng their children in fire ! ?

You can bring up whatever you want about my religion, i will put the hose those arguments too !

  • I wouldn't say I was attacking anything. I was merely pointing out your "logic".

  • You, agree with non-christian religions that, depite the fact the bible tells us that god is love, he would burn people non-stop forever, even tho the book of jer. said that such a thing would never come into his heart !

You hold to the belife that hell is for torturing the wicked, even tho his son was there !

Which belife is really more christian ?

  • And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart. - Jeremiah 7:31 - What a way to take something said completely out of context!

Which is more Christian? Don't pull that one - Blood, shunning, ever changing doctrines that have destroyed marriages, broken apart families, has lead many to suicide, etc...

  • What is baptisim of spirit? and who was baptised by it

  • The baptism of the Spirit when a person gives they life to Christ and is filled with his Spirit.

  • Thats description of dedication, not baptisim. What happens when you are filled with holy spirit ?

  • You can not compare the dedication of JW's to that the life altering experience of a true Christian. They are far removed from one another.

  • Because you said they were the same thing !

  • Baptism of water is not the same as baptism of the Spirit.

  • In addition to that, there is no mention of fire anywhere near Jesus

  • What has that to do with anything?

  • At jesus baptisim, he was first baptised, then the holy spirit came to him .

  • feeling of fire is mentioned here in acts, but this is not connected to baptisim, this when the gifts of tounges came to those present at the festival, and they preached to all the people of diffrent languages

  • Filled with the Spirit, baptised with the Spirit. Same thing.

  • if he is speaking literal, then there will be a literal wheat gathering !

  • Notice the word "AS" in Matt 13:40?

  • Matt 3:11 then 12

11b. That one will baptize you with holy (spirit and fire) ! this had to be another illustration !

  • Matt 3:11isn't an illustration, unfortunately you've never felt the Holy Spirit, so you're not qualified to interpret that.

  • Whoa, when was anyone ever baptised by fire ?

  • Acts 2:3 - Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

It is a feeling of a glowing warmth.

  • at Matt 13:42 Why the word furnace, why not hell ? (without a parable he wouldnot speak to them !)

  • Why do you continuely use the word hell? Look back through our conversation and tell me how many times I've used it.

  • If any human should have burned forever, it should have been Adam and Eve, they were not born with sin like we are. they willfully went against god !

But no, they returned to the dust !

  • When did Adam and Eve sin?

  • If someone was in that catagory(lake of fire) they would still have to be on the level of Satan because he is there !

  • It says tormented ( in the 2nd death )not fire !

  • And other scripture says:

Matt 13:42 Jesus Christ said the lost will finally be cast into a furnace of fire.

Matt 3:12 John the Baptist said the lost will end up in unquenchable fire.

Matt 13:40 As the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of this world.

Matt 25:41 Jesus Christ sends the lost into the fire after His Second Coming.

2 Peter 2:9 God will reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.

  • Sin is sin. There is no sin greater than another. There is just one that is unforgivable, but this doesn't make it worse.

  • If he is a consuming fire, wouldnt that indicate that in our service to him. we have to be whole-souled, that his service would be our #1 priority not hypocritical.

Or does it mean we will burn up ?

  • okay i agree, but the point is if you are in the the lake of fire along satan, that means you are cut off forever, completely destroyed !

  • I don't think "being TORMENTED day and night forever and ever" qualifies a person as "completely destroyed".

  • If God is love, could he allow torment non-stop day in and day out forever. We are made in his image, yet if we see a suffering animal, we know the humane thing to do would be to put the animal out of its misery !

  • People seem to assume that we humans are God's first love. Wrong! God is all about his glory. We are here for his glory. His glory is of first importance. And God is love, but he is also a consuming fire.

  • i agree but still jesus is the 1 that makes descision, of who goes to the lake of fire, and who will recieve ressurection. Those in the lake of fire are ones Jesus judged as beyond redemption, that is why Satan is there !

  • Beyond redemption? You mean they weren't justified by the Spirit. It isn't a midterm exam. It's the final judgement!

  • Have you ever wondered why non-christian religions also teach Firey hell ?

  • The reason i know is because, someone sat down with me and showed the evidence in the bible. Just considering the few points i listed from gen to rev. you have to admit that is quite a bit of evidence stacked up against the teaching of hell !

  • Hell as perhaps the Catholics teach it, yes. But the biblical hell is very different.

  • God is the final judge, he will allow jesus to jugde for him. Those that are in the lake of fire, have been judged by Jesus at this time. Look who it is speaking of as being there... satan the false prohet the beast death and hell ! Previous parts of revaltion speak of Jesus binding satan and throwing in to darkness !

  • This isn't the lake of fire, that is his 1000 year prison.

  • i agree, but everyone has the opportunity to have forgiveness, if thet repent ! but...

  • okay...

  • Can a man with no life stand? what do you mean ?

  • -Jonah Chp2 calls the belly of the fish (hell)

-Jer 19:5 speak of pagans burning there children as a sacrafice to idols god says here "such a thing has never come into my heart !"

-There is to be a "resurrection of the just and unjust, " so will the unjust be sent to hell burn for a while then reciecve ressurection ?

  • -Hell is not mention in creation.

-Adam and Eve were not sent to hell, but were told they would return to the dust !

-Sodom and gommorah were burned, but not forever.

-Hell is supposed to be for the wicked, yet the gospels say Jesus was there for 3 days.

  • That right been because Jesus took upon him our sins on the cross, or stake if you prefer, and receive the wrath of God. Jesus became sin for us (Isaiah 53:4-6).

  • So the things is now to decide whether or not the teaching of eternal torture fits in with the rest of the bible, when considering the following points...

  • And on top that, Hell is there as well ! What going on with hell at this point ?

  • Ok so all these are the lake of fire(second death) tormented forever. Since there is no fire, but death wouldnt that indicate that permenant destruction ?

  • The next point that comes up would have to be is there talk of literal fire here, since everything is being cast into the lake of fire which means the death. Is the spirit realm where God lives able to be burned with fire, or is fire restricted to physical realm, and is reprentative of permenant destruction ?

  • Who knows what is in the Spirit realm.

  • Ok you have point there, but even at that rate Satan is burned, and the humans there are already dead !

  • Act 24:15 - ...there will be a RESURRECTION of the dead, BOTH of the just and the unjust.

Romans 14:10-11- ...For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, EVERY knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Rev 20:13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And THEY WERE JUDGED, each one according to his works.

Can a man with no life stand?

  • Agreed

  • OK so the beast, false prophet, death, hell, and satan are all being cast into the lake of fire, which means the second death. Agreed?

  • Rev 20:10 - The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. AND THEY WILL BE TORMENTED DAY AND NIGHT FOREVER AND EVER.

    Second death - agreed

  • 20:14 says death and HELL were cast into the lake of fire. If Hell is literal it is how is it being burned in fire ? Secondly, can the lake of fire be literal if plainly says THIS MEANS the 2nd death ?

  • 20:13 says the sea gave up the dead in them, and death and hell gave up the DEAD in them. So, if hell is a literal place those that go there are DEAD not conscious, and aware they are being burned !

  • I would agree with that.

  • If Rev 20 is literal, ver 10 says that the Devil is cast into fire and brimstone. What does that mean? If firey torment is literal here, it is meant for Satan, not humans !

  • Rev 20:10 continues "...where the beast and the false prophet are." So, both.

  • That indicates that there will be much symbollisim, and visions and prophecies .

  • First of all the beginning of the chap. tell us that this a vision to john. agreed?

  • Comment removed

  • wait a sec which one are talking about ?

  • The 1st scripture you mentioned, was matt 13: 42,43 Since without a parable, he would not speak to them, cant we conclude that he is speaking symbollically ?

  • Starting with matt !

  • Dead means unbelivers !? If the verse explained the lake of fire, if it unbelivers, it would have said so as well !

  • Then who are the dead? Believers as well?

  • Ok then lets start with rev 20 !

  • At the end of the chapter it says the lake of fire (means) or represents the 2nd death! It is symbollic !

  • That's right, it says this of the lake of fire NOT THE TORTURE.

  • even if it was literal 20 :13 says those that are in hell are dead ! not alive being tortured !

  • There is no way to read this chapter without recognizing that Jesus is speaking in an illustration, and symbollically !

  • Also if the word hell is used in other parts of this book, why is it not used here, if that is indeed what he is speaking about?

Why the word furnace? Wouldnt that word fit in with the idea that he is symbollically speaking of wheat and weeds ?

  • You are kinda umping around, but ok. MT 13:42 The whole thing is an illustration ! Mt 13:3 begins...he told them many things by illustration !

  • And halfway down the chapter in verse 34- 36 it says, "All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to THEM, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Then Jesus SENT THE MULTITUDE AWAY and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.

  • Jesus is explaining the parable in verse 42.

  • Those that are in hell are dead, according to rev 20 13. If hell is fire, why is it being thrown into fire ? The fire itself represents somthing else, which is the 2nd death! Is this all literal or symbollic ?

  • Rev20:13,14

the sea gave up the dead in them, death and hell gave up the (DEAD) in them. (DEATH AND HELL) were cast into the lake of fire. this means the 2nd death !

  • The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Rev 20:10)

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev 20:15)

Hades is empty when it is throw into the lake of fire. All will have been resurrected for judgement.

  • What is the lake of fire? and why the change in words? Why not hell? 20;13 says (hell is cast into the lake of fire !)

  • Dead means the unbelievers. It doesn't mean that they are literally dead.

  • I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust (Acts 24:15)

  • Your statements are confusing, they actually work against what you are saying.

The verse in Rev. speak of the devil burning in fire himself. if it is literal. If hell is literally fire why is it being cast into fire ? Death and hell gave up the dead that were in them .

We have to be clear on whether or not he is speaking symbollically or not. So why dont we take each scripture 1 by 1 and analyze.

  • Also both hell and the lake of fire are spoken of here. So they cant be the same thing !

  • The key is to be able to understand when the bible is speaking literal, and when it is speaking symbollically !

  • Im glad you mentioned context ! Because reading the entire chapter reveals that this chapter is spoken in symbollisim! It speaks of the kingdom representing ten virgins for example, you are taking that portion of the chapter literally, if that part is literal, so is the rest of the chapter ! obviously it is not. The begining says the kingdom of heaven will be (like) ten virgins. That indicates that this will be symbollic !

  • There is no indication that Jesus is speaking in symbolism here, where as the ten virgins is indicated with the word LIKE. There is nothing to indicate symbolism for Matt 13:42. And is Matthew was written as a whole, chapters and verses were added later. So maybe, according to you logic, take the whole to Matthew as symbolism!

  • When Jehovah used fire to destroy sodom and gommorah, those cities were completly destroyed. But They didnot continue to literally burn forever and ever. But the destruction of the cities is what would never end.

  • The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Rev 20:10)

  • if rev 20 is literal, again the devil is the one that should fear hell.

  • Fire symbollizes permenant destruction, not permenant torture.

  • Matt 13:42 - and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    Sound like destruction or torture?

  • In order for a belife to be true, it must agree with the rest of the bible. The bible does not contradict itself . So if hell is a literal place, that would contradict what god told Adam and Eve !

  • If it is prepared for the Devil, he and his angels the devil is the one who should fear it should fear it, if a literal place.

  • Read the context of Matt 25:41 it's not speaking of the Devil and his angels.

  • Adam and Eve sinned, when they ate from the tree as God, had commanded them not to ! That was the sin. They did the opposite of what God commanded. And they didnot have sin in them like we do today. That's what makes it so serious. Still, God's punishment was to return to the dust, not burn in hell .

  • In addition to that, God told Adam and Eve, who commited the 1st sin ever, that they would return to the dust, not burn in hell !

  • There physical body returns to dust. There soul is tormented in hades/sheol.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. (Romans 12:19)

  • Adam and eve were perfect and without sin, but they chose sin, and doomed us all. Did they go to hell ?

  • At what point did they sin? When they ate of the fruit or when the thought entered their mind? Jesus said, "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matt 5:28)

Yet, God said, "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. (Gen 2:17)

So when exactly did Adam and Eve choose sin?

    Were they REALLY made "perfect"?

  • Wow, those scriptures sound pretty grim. I thought the bible said (1john 4:8) God is love! Will a person be tortured for eternity, for 50 ,or 60 years of sin. That actually sounds more like Satan ! Is Hell a literal place, since it is not mentioned in the creation ? Gen 1

It Hell is not mentioned in creation, so at what point was hell created, and does the idea of etrnal torture, fit in with the way the bible describes as God's personality ?

  • You can take single verse and make entire doctrines from them, the Bible also says, "God is a consuming fire" (Heb 12:29). Bible actually says more on the wrath of God than on his love.

The orthodox Jews understand sheol to be a place. Not only that Jesus spoke of Hades as a place in Luke 16:19-31.

  • It is not a single verse, when was hell created ?

  • what has that to do with anything? There is not a single verse for oxygen being created in Genesis, but I pretty sure that you don't doubt oxygen.

  • It is a very important point. If hell is a literal place, it should be mentioned, ilke heaven and earth ! If you are it does not matter, you are taking a liberty to add somthing that is not there.

  • "Then he will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matt 25:41)

The Greek for prepared is the past tense of "hetoimazo" - having BEEN made ready.

  • LOL!

  • life sucks

  • jesus said , I am the way , the truth and the life . no one comes before GOD except through me . got jesus ? I do , love jesus , ask him to forgive your sins , all you have to do is ask , with your heart and soul , love jesus .
