not only did they remove painted black but the original had a lot of classic rock in it . there is one scene where born to be wild aired originaly when McKay turned around and flew down the river and launched grenades and hosed the banks with m60 rounds now it's just studio crap. it takes away from the mood of the video

You know they did the same bullshit to WB's Birds of Prey opening theme and episode scenes (a based off series of Batman that had Huntress, Batgirl/Oracle, Dinah Lance, and Harley Quinn - the Joker's Hench-girl). It just pissed me off. I wanted to watch the show in the way it was originally aired in 2002 on the WB. I very barely remember watching Tour of Duty when I was very young that played Paint it Black. It is damn stupid they changed the music on the DVD.

Honestly all this copy right issue bullshit between TV shows, movies, music, or comic book characters (as such Batman or Wonder Woman that could not appeared on Smallville) really just pisses me off.

Are you guys sure it's a copyright issue, or is it that they changed the theme in the 2nd season. I don't think that all of those scenes are form the first season. (I have the 1st season on DVD too and, yeah, I was miffed not to hear pain It Black.) Do yo have some reference for this?

@ryoohki yup, it's about copyrights. Even this video has also been rejected by Youtube a few months due to copyright issues. But eventually be aired again. Thx for comment :)

@yudiweb The dvds have the end theme as the opening.  The Paint it black opening is not on the dvds.

I, along with my three sisters loved this show!!! Use to watch it all the time with my father!! Wish he was still here to watch it with me!! Would have loved to purchase it for him. Theme song bring back so many memories.

I remember that in later seasons CBS got Carl Weather and Lee Majors and other famous actors/actresses to appear in seasons of the show to boost ratings. I remember there was even a three episode arc that spawned the spin off show China Beach on ABC. I never saw the last episode of Tour of Duty. CBS just ended it mid-season.
