That Rifle looks a helluva lot like an FN FNC(very similar to the FAL) but anyways's I love my L1A1 SLR(British version).Hard hitting and accurate.Nice video.
Can you place 4 dime size targets at 100 meters and try with the sniper rifle? Even with a scoped rifle you still need good powerful scope and a very accurate rifle.
@semiautoriflelover Well the wind will affect any bullet at any range but it won't move it enough to make a difference. This challenge can't be done with iron sights and actually perform. Unless of course you're a champion hi power shooter.
this video was made primarily for entertainment purposes
milerusaf has posted a similar video in which he shoots at a coin sized target at 100 yards with a mossin nagant rifle - so i tried with iron sights too :)
To hit dimes you need a rifle that shoots 5 shots into 3/4" or less. Very accurate needed. Iron sights is just impossible to hit 5 out of 5. I tried 5 out of 5 with a scope and rifle that was around 1" and I came close getting 2 in black, 1 touching and 2 off 1". I would think an FAL would group 5 shots into 3" at 100 meters open sights on average.
Polenar, great video like always. But I have to say... Don't rage if I'm wrong but I bet half the people claiming to say that the FAL is a great rifle are the one who play Call of duty..... I have never actualy shot a FAL but seen it at the range quiet a bit.... ( a guy goes there almost every day) and it looks like a good gun... The guy shoots the FAL in 5.56 Nato and has a scope if you are wondering.
By buddy once mixed alcohol and an FAL. The outcome was a bump-fire fail. Doesn't get much dumber than that. He also attempted to bump fire a shitty HIGH-POINT 9mm rifle from his right hip when the bolt on the gun is on the left side. He has a beautiful scar on his hip to show how dumb he can be! This is the same guy who also attempted to bump fire his M1Garand. I swear though, he can hit a 6" grouping @ 50m after his 10th beer with a HK USP .45. The guy is an amazing shot
About 3" groups? Good shooting! I laugh at people when they say their shooting sub-MOA with iron sights on rifles that are not even capable of doing 3MOA with scope!
yeah, don't use a semi automatic , especially the famous european 7.62s, great guns, but it would be a better choice to go with a remmington bolt action with a scope, or better yet a mosin nagant , or even better, walther made rifle
Polenar, whose rifle was it? That's a metric FN FAL with a "para" stock. Nice rifles though obsolete by today's standards. Still quite useful at distances beyond the 300 meter range of the AKM even with the iron sights. I have the forefather to the FN FAL, the FN 49. My son has wanted it since first shot it last year. What size were your groups (in cm. or inches).
@Polenar I agree...+ its not like anyone is going to be able to tell the differance between getting shot with 9mm or anything else... its not what hits you its where it hits you. Awesome shooting btw, I heard that gun shoots around 2 MOA usualy so that pretty good even if you were using an optic.. which you wernt.
@Polenar nice, Ive actually never shot a FAL but heard they are decent. Hey check out the ass hat on my ak video that claims hes prior spetsnaz, but he calls our M70 an AK74, and claims he can reload one in .05 seconds (the bolt cant even go into battery when released in .05 sec's) along with other claims. You probably know more about The unit hes claiming, figured you might get a laugh out of reading some of his bullshit.
@Polenar exactly. Maybe its because ive trained a lot with it, its our stanard handweapon, but i can handle it much better than the 21. Especially in assaults, the 17 is way more useful. About the video: As usual. you did a great job. I remember the first time i shot at 100 m, i was using a sniper rifle. So ive got to say, facing that you shoot with a simple rifle without scope, that was a damn nice job. You seem to be a very improved shooter. Keep it up
i was just checking the direction and intensity of the wind.
If there was a side wind with that intensity some slight adjustments would be needed or i would have to wait until it stopped but since it was head wind there was no need for that and i just took the shot.
awwwww i thought you were gonna do it with an AK :(

i have a pre-accu trigger Savage 10 FP rifle in .308win with a Bushnell 6-18x40mm riflescope
with this setting, very stiff trigger and commercial loads my rifle can barely do 5 shot sub MOA groups
but a 4 dime sized target shouldnt be a problem - i will definitely do more videos with my sniper rifle in the future
my plan is to buy a special trigger and a bushnell elite 4200 8-32x40mm scope for my rifle

The wind won't even move a .308 (7,62x51mm) round at 100 meters.
