The only entomological ways to identify types of people are through linguistics, geography and culture. Assimilation is only possible in small numbers. Once the concentration of foreign elements reaches a critical mass, there is enough social framework for them not to assimilate into the surrounding society. If the numbers are so great that the original population is reduced to a minority, as has happened in many parts of the UK, the colonisers are not being "assimilated" into the surrounding society, but simply replacing the original population.

Racial supremacism refers either to a desire to rule over other another race, or a belief in racial superiority. The desire to conserve the national identity of Britain, which is a product and manifestation of the white race, is not remotely "supremacist" in either sense. Since race replacement has been the primary factor in undermining the national identity, ending the importation of unassimilable racial elements into the British population is a reasonable policy from a patriotic standpoint.

"British" national identity is a product of the *political* union of England and Scotland in 1707 and has nothing to do with race, and Scottish & Welsh people have good reason to distrust the very notion. "Race" as a classification for human beings is a concept of dubious scientific truth. There are undoubtedly different human cultures and skin colours, but they are not unambiguous and discrete. Everyone is more or less of a mongrel and racial purity is a chimera.

By 'British' is meant those ethnic groups which existed in Britain at the time of political union. It is a matter of indifference whether the UK continues to exist as a political entity. The introduction of unassimilable elements into the population threatens to reduce the English, the Scottish, the Welsh, and the Irish to minority status within their own respective territories. This is true regardless of whether the political union of England and Scotland is desirable or undesirable.

The race concept does not imply perfect discreteness or a complete lack of ambiguity. Because races are capable of interbreeding, transitional types can and do exist. This is perfectly normal in the division of any species into races. Indeed, there are instances in which separate species of animals - never mind races - show less genetic distintiveness and less morphological diversity than the human races. Once again you are knocking down a strawman argument.

The political union *created* Britain, it didn't exist before. Ireland has not been part of Britain since 1922. Who exactly are these "unassimilable elements"? What do you propose to do about them? How about the children of a 1940s marriage between a black GI and a white Englishwoman? Are they "unassimilable"? How about the children of Caribbean and Asian immigrants? According to one survey, 69 percent of American anthropologists believe that race is a valid biological classification (Leiberman and Reynolds). But this becomes so melded together and many other things contribute to how people view themselves. Race is much more superficial genetically than how we VIEW it. And on the other hand, the larger group making prejudiced judgements views so few of the differences in the minorities and how complex they can be.

If Britain as a political formation were dissolved today, the component ethnic groups thereof would not magically cease to exist. They have an existence independent of this political formation.
