ive had a panhead and a shovelhead now i have a evo. and i must say for a everyday commuter the evo is hands down. but for looks the shovelhead was the shit! but for that unbeatable sound.. panhead all the way..
@ilbtyras Try guys like Hillside Cycle and Machine in NY, Paul Matyka at Riverside Cycle in CT, or Mr. Simon at Competition Cycle (?) in Pa. All of these guys love know how to keep em together and make power.
@ilbtyras Pans and Shovels take a fair amount of wrenching. That's just the nature of the beast. Those old clutches, chains, points (if you haven't upgraded to electronic yet) lifters, exhaust gaskets, etc. etc. There always seems to be something that needs a little TLC. BUT they are just so much damn cooler than an Evo! (Evo's are ugly but they take way less wrenching.) Everybody I know has had an Evo or two except me. If you keep that Shovel long enough, you'll get used to wrenching on it.
Sweet scooter! Fire the camera man.
