I think it deserved an 8 because:

1. It is the finest game in its crap genre

2. It fulfills the role you described (drunken party game) PERFECTLY

This game is actually controversial, not because it drops the world's largest amount of F-Bombs, but because nerds FREAKED when they saw that a nerdy character was being interrogated and had his glasses knocked off, and then in the next frame his glasses were on.

While it is glitchy, it's fun and long and challenging in places. It's also got camp value as some parts (VO's) are so bad they're good :)

omg what the fuck! this review is...great. lol. i've never understood the stupidity of some people when it comes to viewing reviews. its not like a reviewers score is going to change a fans view of a game so whats with the bitching ya know? in the end its just an entertaining opinion. i for one am going to get this game, because my friends and i enjoy these types of laid back light gun games. don't love em, but they're pretty fun with groups.

this game remindes me of the arcade version of house of the dead me and my friend would take turns in Co. op. Ha... was funny when we'd start yelling SHOOT! good times.. We spent like 20$ in change but when we won XD Every one in the arcade ran over And we were high fiving every one on the way out XD man good times when with friends but after beating it it got boring but Good shooter :D

My friend has this, and I've played it and I have to agree with you about the lack of depth and stuff, but its still fun, especially with your friends yelling at you to dodge and shoot and whatever :D

Overall better than 3 but then 3 is probably better in an arcade setting. More or less the same for 4, although I can barely remember it since I've only played it a couple times or so.

MadWorld I'd like to, but it shares the unfortunate fate of being released the same week as RE5 so I probably won't have the chance to get to it for awhile.

Great review, I totally agree with you on HoTD 2&3 Return and this review's score, I think if Return had updated graphics, maybe online Co-Op it would've been a blast, this one they should have had online Co-Op with harder bosses (HoTD is known for it's difficulty right?) 5/5 NC :)

There is gonna be a lot of franchises getting a Rail shooter conversion. I wish licenses would use this Genre. A FPS Rail game of "StarShip Troopers" would be cooler than a Regular FPS or RTS game IMO. If I had to pick 1 Franchise to get a Rail Shooter Port, I'd like to see Contra get 1. I like Contra and as much as I would rather get a Contra V instead of a rail shooter, my curiosity is perked at the thought and the possibilities.

I bought the game because I could see how much love the headstrong guys have put into it.

I also got the special package deal with the graphic novel and gunshells.

For a light gun game, I think it's pretty awesome, they don't really get much better.

also i love lightgun games, but im not nuts about them, i reserved this game and i think its good, but dead rising for wii kept my intrest for a longer time after beating this in about 3 days,

also, a true HOTD fanboy bitches about the two crappy spinoffs the game had, the one where it was just a zombie beat em up for the dreamcast, or the arcade HOTD where you threw pies at zombies, i particulary dont care, and i find the pie one amusing as hell.
