It wasn't a great victory, it was just a victory. A great victory would not have been one achieved through war but political diplomacy that would have stopped the war before it began, such as no reparations for WW1 and other agreements that would have never made German people turn to the religious right wing National Socialists, which would have also kept Poland free, and kept the Soviets far behind the west technologically. This war changed the world, for better (NATO, EU) and worst (cold war).

@Killerkalle06 when i met my friend from finland, one of the first things he said was that finland was on the side of the nazis. i was kind of stunned and said something like "that has nothing to do with us now". although i realize it's memories are more vivid for europe than the us, i didn't know quite how vivid they were for finnish people still.

No firstly, Britain is a smaller country than Germany. Germany was preparing for war and they strengthened their army in the time period Hitler was ruler, thus giving an advantage. The Germans also had a peace accord with the Russians, so the Russians were not worried, until surprisingly attacked in 1941. USA dominated both Germany and Japan after declaring war in 1941.

Germany surrender to allies, Japanese imperial navy and air force had been weaken due to continuous fight against allies so surrender to america.

America enter in mid of the war with full company of allies and didn't see such destruction as seen by Britain and Russia.

WW III is soon going to take place in near future.

America didn't fight the war for 6 years. They only came in when Japan attacked them. But why always mension those 3 countries? Polen/the Netherlands/Morocco/ France/Australia/Canada fought with the allies.
