I went to boot camp in Orlando in 1980. I remember watching Popeye the Sailorman with Robin Williams in my Cracker Jack uniform. I hear they closed down Orlando back in the 1990s?

My son enlisted in 2006 for six years! He will re-enlist in 2012 for an additional three years, but this time apply for officer command school. My daughter is will enlist next year and apply for officer command school! My husband is former navy as well! Go Navy!

MILLIONS (about 19 million) died at The Siege of Leningrad millions died, most being Soviet, or European, USA only struck the final blow with D-day, still, the USAF and navy fought against Japan by themselves for most of the war so its safe to say even though we didn't do much were NOT nobody's

This makes me proud to be a FS (Future Sailor). Shipping out to Boot Camp July 19th. Can't wait 'til I am no longer a future Sailor, and instead a Seaman Recruit, Seaman Apprentice, or possibly Seaman.

That was, obviously, good for me. Maybe not for you. A Seaman is nothing more than a "Deck Ape". You wan't to spend your life chipping paint?? Or cleaning heads? Yeah, even though I'm an American (This proves some of us accept that were not the very best at somethings) the Soviet Union really had the most deaths. MILLIONS (about 19 million) died at The Siege of Leningrad millions died, most being Soviet, or European, USA only struck the final blow with D-day, still, the USAF and navy fought against Japan by themselves for most of the war so its safe to say even though we didn't do much were NOT nobody's

@Silavite Some of what you say is true About the Navy and the Air Force, but dont forget to honor the Marines and Army that also fought and died in that war also. It took all four of our military branches not just two.

@valdie911 first of all i am totally AGAINST war...and second...you watch to much TV...when the US arrived in Europe in Juni 1944 Stalingrad was 1,5 years ago, africa was already lost...and the war was in his last episode. So the US-Army fought agains the last remaining german troops who was still standing after 5 years of war..you won against the weak part of the troops :) ....doesn´t matter, but you answer is typicall American...proud and arrogant, ignorantly and uninformed...s

The symbolic gesture of the airlift and the maintainence of West Berlin as part of the BDR didn't result in the downfall of the DDR. The Soviets didn't 'liberate' Berlin; they sacked the city and raped over 100,000 women, from the elderly down to 6 year old girls in one of the most brutal reprisals since the rape of nanking. That's the fate of your Germany without American intervention. therefore, shut up about things you don't understand.
