however this also means that since they did not choose to live in estonia, that means they shouldn't automatically get citizenship either.

The Russians don't know history and that's it. Also many people think that SS and Waffen SS is the same thing. At the start it was voluntary to join the Latvian Divisions, then after people that much people didn't show up, people were forced to join the Divisions. Latvians hoped that the Divisions would be a base for a future Latvian Army, which would fight for freedom.

However, you are very factually wrong about the soldiers from the Baltic countries.
Despite over-whelming Soviet troop strength, Baltic and German soldiers gave the Red Army all they could handle, and inflicted heavy losses at the Battle of Narwa, and especially the Battle of the Courland Pocket.

I dont think that people in the Baltics today has the same desire for mass murder and genocide as Croatians, it is just the fact some of them (not all) honour and glorify crimes committed in WW2 that I object to.

The Soviet Union invaded and occupied Latvia* in 1940. The Soviet Union also took the eastern third of Poland* in concert with Nazi Germany blitzing that country from the west in 1939.
Also took Lithuania* and Estonia*
All this was before Barbarossa in 1941.

Stalin understood Hitler's ambitions and needed a buffer zone in his northeast similar to what he had in Eastern Poland. Cut Stalin some slack and stop your bitching. Put yourself in the place of nervous Rooskies.

As much as the Brussels bureaucracy resembles Red agencies, it's still best to stay.
Europe always stays as the centre of Human Civilisation, from the Vikings and the "First among Equals" idea, the elected Hetmen of Ukraine, the Baltic / Polish Commonwealth, enlightened long before the rest and all the efforts Europe made towards the idea of the Free Man.

my father was born in latvia and fought in the latvian legion.... he moved to the united states and fought for latvian independence his entire life. he passed away before his dream was realized.... but his family lives on as well as his pride in latvia!!! we love latvia and will come to fight the russians if they ever commit their attrocities again...LONG LIVE FREE LATVIA! Long Live Latvia and its allies! Watching this video it sadens me when i see the russian speaking PRO RUSSIAN "minority" in Latvia, knowing that allmost 45% of all population in this country are against our culture, independence, free will and democracy! By yelling: Njet fashizmu - no fashism (in russian), or fashizm njepraidjot - no fashism will be allowed, the russian speaking crowd means all pro westren and democratic in this country, yet they HAVE rights to leave Latvia! The Russians don't know history and that's it. Also many people think that SS and Waffen SS is the same thing. At the start it was voluntary to join the Latvian Divisions, then after people that much people didn't show up, people were forced to join the Divisions. Latvians hoped that the Divisions would be a base for a future Latvian Army, which would fight for freedom.
