Because of federal law no one can be hired into the medical field if they have anything whatsoever on their record. Even if she had succeeded in cleaning herself up, there is no way she could have gone back into anything nursing related.

Sorry - not true. Our former District Attorney's wife Dr. Lori Hansen Lane pled guilty to felony forging prescriptions. She then violated her probation and lost her license. They recently just gave her medical license back to her. Scary huh?

As long as a person is completely forthcoming about any and all legal interactions they can qualify for medical licensing, or any licensing for that matter. It's up to the review board as to whether or not they get it. There is no law that outright bans a person from any kind of licensing.  Such a law would be in direct violation of your constitutional rights.

Considering 1-n-4 American's have some sort of criminal record, I'd say it's not too hard to get a job. Many of these hookers do get jobs. I've ssen them working at several local fast food joints for about $8/hr and even at a telemarketing firm for $14/hr. They can work if they want to.

Yes, if an outreach program helps them find a job, it's possible. Otherwise, you are mostly SOL. That's encouraging you were able to witness a couple get hired though. Employers wants stability, not someone who was a recent crack addicted prostitute. Now, being booked for prostitution carries a stigma worse than most petty crimes.
