  • Thank you for keeping it simple. I live in a remote country and cannot buy all of the products promoted by many of our natural sisters. I can get the "raw ingredients"... shea butter, coconut oil, vegetable glycerine, and WATER here :)! I can do this! Again, thanks for the inspiration!

  • Hi Mynaturallove,

Glad you like it. Thanks for your comment:))

  • Great vid! Would be perfect if you changed the battery in your smoke detector! ;)

  • Thanks.

  • I would like to know if using olive oil is good for hair because I've been using it with water.

  • Hi Leafeegirl,

    Yeah, absolutely!!!

  • Good. Thanks natnaija. I appreciate it.

  • @leafeegirl yeah and for your skin. escpecially in winter its a heavier oil. I use it to enhance my giovanni leave in conditioner

  • Wonderful video, how exactly do you use your shea butter mixture? Do you wet hair completely, put the shea butter in then rinse? Or plastic cap under heat dryer? Curious because a lot of information that shea butter is great for the hair, but what are the steps on using it?

  • Hi Msnoirepetite, Thank you.

There are so many ways one can use shea butter, some of which are: for massage, skin and hair moisturizing, etc. It can be used in its solid form, and just melted by rubbing between your fingers or palm. It can also be heated. I use it for my skin and hair, and also for muscle massage. Moreover, more information is available on-line as well.

Hope I've been helpful. Take care:)

  • I agree with you when you say that water is essential to moisturize, because at first I used shea butter and coconut oil but it just didn't seem enough (my hair was oily but not soft.. it was dry). After some thought I decided to add a spritz composed mainly of water with a little bit of aloe vera gel and olive oil... and it made a HUGE difference! My hair was soft and a lot less oily/greasy!!! Water is the best!!! OH and you have beautiful natural hair and I like how you speak lol! Take care

  • Hi MsGA30,

I apologize if I am just responding. Thanks for your comment., and also for the personal compliment :)) Yep!! water is the best: It softens, cleanses, moisturizes, etc. Take care, and God Bless :)

  • great video. whats the name of the intro song plz

  • I love this song!!!! Its called "Din Din Wo" and its by Habib Koite and Bamada

  • good, l did not know about castor oil. thanks for the tip. And i now know where to go for the products u mentioned

  • OMG naija gaaal! woot, so am I!!! I love the song in the beginning I hear it a lot from my dad.....very cool. BTW, beautiful hair!

  • Aloe vera gel is also a good moisturizer.

  • Yeah, I agree. I just haven't found aloe vera gel anywhere. I use aloe vera juice.

Where does one buy the gel? Thanks.

  • Actually you can just google it on line. However, the juice will give you the same moisture. Sometimes the gels will have alcohol and other additives your hair does not need. Lily of the Dessert is a good brand. You can probably find it in your neighborhood health food store.

  • I'll definitely check there. Thanks for taking time to respond.

  • Off the topic but Please do a video on adornment. You said that you are of Nigerian descent. Perhaps you can bring a little of that flare to us.

  • Thanks for the request. Unfortunately, I don't have any traditional jewelry with me to adorn self/make a video (in the sense you are asking), but will try. Actually, the beaded piece on me in this video, is real jade from Nigeria. It is one of my treasured pieces, which I only got my my hands on when I visited in 2007.

Thanks again; and take care :))

  • cool, vid...how long did take your to grow? and your are a very beautiful blk woman :)

  • Thank you much for your comment. My hair grow an average of half an inch a month. It is 71/2 - 8 inches now. Thanks again :))

  • Your hair, make-up and necklace are so classy and lovely!

  • Thank you :)

  • Aww.....how sweet. Thanks for your comment dear, and for subscribing as well :)

  • How did I miss your channel. Now subscribed :D

  • You are too funny!!!! I will definitely try and add some pics. However, cutting off the permed hair wasn't difficult for me at all. Afterall. I was just tired of it. I did it 5 years before then. Thanks for your comment :))

  • we want to keep the hair on the head not on the comb....

    loool!

  • Right.....LOL!!!!

  • Would you mind showing/sharing how you mix your shea butter, water, and castor oil for the spritz?

  • I don't add castor oil to my spritz, but I guess that can work too. Certainly, I can demonstrate how I mix it. Now, I am completely "old school" so, I might not use any type of metric. ...LOL. Anyway, I will surely do so. Tnks for asking :))

  • Sure.

  • You better change the batteries on your smoke detectors !! Please stay safe. Thanks for the info.

  • You have good hearing...OH MY LOL... I can't believe that u heard the beep. I'm pleased to advise that it is a dual system, which works even though the battery is out. Nevertheless, thanks for the warning :)))
