Hmm Gen 1 (on Pokemon Stadium) Ninetails with Fire Spin. It was the computers final pokemon and it was low on health. I was down to my last pokemon too, Charizard at full health, but I had no idea what I was in for. It outspeed Charizard and kept spamming Fire Spin and there was nothing I could do about it. It got Charizard to near red health but it missed so I finished it off. Although I also had troubles with Whitney's Milk Tank and anything that raises it evasion

Oh my god. I once faced an Umbreon in the battle tower. I had Crobat andI had to stay there until we both ran out of pp and had to use struggle. It took about an hour. I did endup killing it but he finished mewith a dusknoir.

Umbreon is only annoying if it's not on your team. It's basically the ultimate troll. I use it in Stadium 2. Confuse Ray, Toxic, Mean Look, Rest, and a Psncureberry just in case someone Toxics me. It's slow, but it's very enjoyable taking things down.

I actually thought that Umbreon was amazing, because it wasn't based on hax but on strategy (Mean Look + Curses), while he knew he was going to get doublehaxed a lot (paraflinch), he still went for it and took down three Pokes. That's quite impressive, considering it was slow as hell. He set up a great Poke, if he had moonlighted instead of killing Houndoom he could probably have swept your whole team, since he wasn't able able to sleep due to paralysis.

@kickthecat911 If you call Curse-Look a strategy then 85% of online have strategies. It is very uncommon for sweepers not to have stat-boosting moves, unless Choiced. Umbreon has Mean Look, but it would be better to Baton Pass to a Pokemon that can use Trick Room & sweep.

Also, Stealth Rock is very useful, and "switch-in damage" is far better than relying on attacks. SR stops Pokemon switching in a lot to take your attacks, e.g. Bulky Gyarados or Zapdos. It also turns many 3/2HKOs into 2/1HKOs.

@kickthecat911 U-Turn is good, but Baton Pass passes on those +6 boosts to Pokemon that can sweep but don't need Speed, e.g. Snorlax or Machamp. It also works with priority users like Scizor, or Roobushin in 5th Gen. Both of them can take a hit and use priority to KO basically everything with +6 Attack.

Also, Gorebyss. It has the defenses to take a hit or 2. It takes a hit, uses Shell Break, Baton Passes, and then you can pretty much win the game. You don't even need a dedicated receiver.

Yeah, because Umbreon really made that stall war annoying with all that paralysis and flinch hax ... oh, wait, that was your Registeel. This dude did the same thing that any sane battler would do, and took advantage of you leaving Registeel in to set up on you (Mean Look is pretty common on Umbreon, after all). And he should've won (easily) because of it, had you not haxed him to death. That stall war was your fault for having such a crappy Registeel without Explosion. :/
