S4 = S stands for "Sport"

RS4 = RS stands for "RennSport"

actually not all S audi's have quad exhaust for example the S3 doesnt, it just has a twin exhaust, but i dont think you get that car in the US.

In most cases, "T" stands for Turbo. However, Audi decided to use "T" as Supercharge because of "S" from S4... They dont want to put that many S around the car.
