First off, The darkness is coming off the iron rod, the only reason the distilled water is not reacting as fast is because it's had the "dissolved solids" removed which are named as "contaminants". To be fair this doesn't prove anything other than tap water has higher amounts of dissolved solids. You would get similar results using mineral water. However using a distiller does remove all the toxins including the crap they add like fluoride and chlorine and all the other shit like lithium and hormone disruptors. However, what is turning the water brown is mostly minerals that you'd find in natural mineral water.

The lack of minerals in distilled water is easily replaced by foods, juices, and/or coral calcium. "Water authorities" put two highly toxic substances, chlorine and flouride, in drinking water. They don't bother to filter pesticides, medications, lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, lithium, VOCs,etc, etc, etc from water.

@evilwarlockofchaos I could say the same thing about you presenting misinformation. the chlorine in the water is at a safe level to maintain the sterility of the water. the actual sterlisation often uses other processes beforehand. Cl2 is added to the water as a precaution to keep bacteria such as e.coli from possibly infecting the water. The chlorine in the water bubbles off into the air seconds after the water leaves from the tap

@shriramvenu You could, but you'd be wrong. Chlorine does not "bubble off" into the air after the water leaves the tap. Chlorine reacts with other substances in the water and pipes to form toxic trihalomethanes, such as chloroform. Among other things, these can cause cancer. Yes, chlorine kills certain pathogens, but the dangerous compounds it produces should be filtered using activated carbon filtration.

It is used both commercially and in many home water filters, such as Brita and Pure. It is most effective in the removal of organic chemicals and chlorine, odors, colors, and bad taste. Not all filters are equal. Many remove heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, etc) but do not assume so unless the manufacturer states it does. One toxin not removed is fluoride

Distilled water can contain organic chemicals with boiling points below 212 degrees F and while reverse osmosis removes all virtually all contaminants to at least some extent, it doesn't remove 100 percent of them. Carbon filtration in conjunction with distillation or reverse osmosis can help remove many of the contaminants these methods may have missed. Some grocery stores and Wal-Marts have filtration machines that use a combination of methods.

As for fluoride I have yet to see any conclusive evidence suggesting that the percentage of flouride added to the water is harmful in the long term. On the whole i believe the benefit of flouridated water far outweighs the potential risk. As for the stuff about not bothering to filter pesticides heavy metals etc I can only conclude that your from some backwater place where the water isnt properly sourced or treated. People like you perpetuate the money spinning wastage that is bottled water

For every "scientific study" that says fluoride's safe,I can show you one that says the opposite. Lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury are dangerous in ANY amount. It turns brown because the water is conductive. The dissolved solids could be contaminants but they aren't, they are just minerals. If he added a pinch of salt to the distilled water it would turn black.

I don't want to drink distilled water. I just want to remove the Chloramine & chlorine the water company adds to kill germs. In many areas water is actually a good source of calcium! Distilled water is good for car batteries & science experiments. Drinking only distilled water can leech electrolytes from your body, because our bodies need to add electrolytes to the water before it can be added to our blood stream. Drinking purified water is smart, but I'm not sure drinking distilled is smart.

Get your mineral from food and your oxygen, hydrogen, and electrons from distilled water. The more dissolved solids in water, the less free its electrons are to enter your system and energize you. Take a sample of water coming from a glacier and you would get the same results.

Distilled water does not conduct electricity and therefore , electrolysis cannot take place. To have electrolysis , you need a electrode(-) and an anode(+) submerged in conductive liquid with an current running between them. The electrode , losses molecules to the water (it is reduced) and that is the main reason why the water turns brown.
