  • Yeah but how will it sound when you go acoustic and place skins on?

  • for some reason Joey always sounds terrible when he's playing with his mask off

  • F--k Roland!! Pearl E-Pro is BADASS!!

  • that is the best drumkit in the fucking world, the best things of a real drum set and a e. one been mixed !!

    good !

  • The ability to switch from electric to acoustic is pretty freakin sick

  • How to you get other toms on you kit? i cant find them seprete anywere.

  • @ZEBRAZEBRADEATHMARCH

    Looks.

It is also handy on stage because if your double pedal breaks, the drum tech can simply snap on a left-handed variant that you can work with while they tinker with the pedal.

However I would use a 2 BD 2 single pedal setup because it sounds better, is deemed more useful to the other BD and replacing a single pedal on stage is easier than a whole double pedal.

  • I really don't why JJ is playing with double bass drums? :P Is it to look cool, or something? It really don't make any sence, atleast if he had another normal pedal besides the other one, so he had 3x speed? :P

  • @ZEBRAZEBRADEATHMARCH Matt Greiner has that aswell. He was a second bass drum for looks but uses a double pedal.

  • Hello, can you adjust the bass drum sensitivity so that no matter how hard or soft you hit it the output volume is the same?? Thanx

  • say i wanted a 24 inch bass drum and a 16 inch floor tom, are those available?

  • @psychodrummer94 Unfortunately pearl haven't released that yet. You could make a 24 bass drum but the pad the bass hits is small any way if you look at pictures!

  • Is it loud when you use it on headphones? I mean, can you play it in the middle of the night like how you can do it on practice-pads-like e. drums?

  • I am probobly gonna get a lot of negative response for saying this. But here goes. Let me start by saying I love Pearl Drums I even bought a Forum kit for my first kit back in 96. That being said let me say this. I also own a Rolland Pro stage Kit with the TD-12S sound mod. I bought that as a practice/recording kit. I fell in love with them for the ease of moving them from place to place. I think most poeple that go to electric drums make the change for the smaller size kits. now go easy on me

  • I love how Dennis Chamber's facial expression never changes. lol

  • I am really thinking od getting this,i like the idea of true looking e drumset with many samples,it is great for live shows,BUT can i use the R.E.D Module seperate to plug in lets say my pedal?

  • I just bought mine yesterday and almost didn't make it to work, because I didn't want to go to bed...the feel of these drums is amazing, they feel real. I will post my review in a few days....stay tuned!!!

  • Hi! where i can but this kit? i live in spain ... :)

  • great for superior drummer or mixsaurus

  • Can we only buy that electronic pad?

  • It cost abt $4kSGD( Singapore dollar$

  • i would get one if i had the money:-P

  • But don't take me bad, I know that eletronic drums is good to pratice and stuffs like, but, to record and play live, there is nothing like a real kit.

But the idea stills good. This is beautiful.

  • are they good for recording? or just to play live?

  • Hi Gene!

  • How much does this cost ?? Please send me a message.

  • Hey I really like the concept of this kit and the sounds i'm hearing but if you want a second crash do you actually need a second redbox?

  • @strats4ever321 Just plug your additional cymbal into one of the Auxiliary outs, dial in your preferred cymbal sound, and you're done!

  • is its a triggered kit? basicly

  • can u use a double kick pedal for just on the sinlge bass drum or do u need 2 bass drums to be able to use the double kick pedal....?????

    please respond back

  • @slimer024 i use double on the one bass drum

  • I NEED IT!!!!!!!1111!!

  • which shoes did the santana drummer use?

    they look cool =D

  • @LambOfGodManiac Joey is playing Blister Exist and All Hope Is Gone

  • how many triggers for the crash cymbals?

  • fuck yeah i cant wait for this, getting it for christmas i've waited too long for a godly drumkit, cant bloody wait to play some metal on this thing

  • @LambOfGodManiac his drum solo

  • so its expandable like crazy and the demo that with joey jordison. did anyone else notice he had TWO sound modules?

  • this guy is a legend

  • i played this kit at guitar center and i have to be honest I didnt like it to much. it was not sensitive at all. i really had to hit it hard to get a sound out of it. is there any way to make the pads more sensitive?

  • acoustic forever

  • As much as I like Pearl and plan to get an Icon rack to replace my curent one, I do wonder why Jordison is using double bass pedal with a 2-bass drum setup. Is there something we need to know? Honesty alwas wins. Also, You guys should sell the heads and cymbals separately. Alot of DIY drmmers wuld LOVE those cymbals, like myself.

  • @DWRhythm its mostly just for asthetic value like when he played download in 09 he used a double peddle

  • @DWRhythm He's got that cause it's the same and probly this is not his pedal,it's harder to adjust 2 different pedals to play 5 mins for a video, also it's about the looks mate.If u got a big 4 tom set with one kickdrum u look retarded.

  • @yoyoyoyo078 Check our site for all of the Authorized Pearl Dealers in your area... pearldrum com/Dealers/Canada

  • @yoyoyoyo078 The Demon Drive Pedal does not come with the e-Pro Live kit but I hope you check one out while at your Authorized Pearl Dealer. There isn't a Pearl e-china cymbal at this time but you can designate a china sound on any of the existing e-Pro Live cymbals.

  • I'm interest in learning how to play drums (have no experience) but I would have to get an electronic set because of my current living situation so that I can control the volume. This one looks great so far, but I have a question about the cymbals. In the video the guy mentioned that the cymbals used are real...does this mean that I won't be able to control how loud the cymbals are?

  • @GankaholicNerd Although we use brass cymbals for the triggers, you'll still be able to control the level of sound heard through your headphones or speakers. Please remember that if you're using headphones, the sound of the stick striking the cymbal surface will still be heard. Find the nearest Pearl Dealer and check it out for yourself.. go to pearldrum. com/Dealers/United-States.aspx

  • Pearl needs to sell the trutrac heads separately. They'd make a killing off those who don't have the space or money to invest in a completely new kit. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. $3k on a huge kit or $600 on a 4piece Kit Mod?

  • wtf? hes playing a double bass drum best hes got a double bass pedal, ergo has an extra bass drum in vain

  • I bought a set this weekend......love it. The sounds when played through my PA are incredible. The videos on line don't do this kit justice. I love the actual drum sizes versus the 8" sizes of my old Roland kit. My only concern is that the E classic cymbals can't be hit just anywhere. The best sound occurs when you hit the top of the cymbal. I prefer to hit the edges on a crash (like a real cymbal) for optimum affect and volume. I guess I need to work on the adjustments a little bit.

  • is lifetime warranty also available in canada?

  • Its just amazing

  • ummm why did joey have two bass kicks but a double kick??

  • Can you set chinas and splashes to the symbols????

  • @TysonBoehmer There are an assortment of 8 chinas and 5 splash sounds to assign to the cymbals.

  • Dennis chambers is the best drummer alive.. just sayin

  • there are some sites where i can seem prices??

  • how can i edit my own class, save it, and still have it after i turn it off, because everytime i edit a kit and save it, it goes back to its default setting.

  • @KillRideMasterAnd You can find this and more answers at the Support and FAQ section of redboxsoundshop. com

  • Sounded basically disgusting until 7:45 - then I was fairly impressed. It helps to be in stereo too I guess. I bet it feels great to play too.

  • Can you use the rims like some other electronic drum kits?

  • @Sman272 Yes, you can assign any sound to any of the rim triggers.

  • Why did it take SOOO long for real-looking electronic drums to come out?

This combined with Steven Slate Drums is probably bad ass. And I do believe SSD is supported.

  • are the cymbals loud because they made out of brass.

  • @PearlDrumCorp I noticed that we can't play rim shoots on the tru trac heads, or can we?

  • @DavidBoy333 Most of the default kits already have the rimshot sound assigned to the snare rim.

  • when's the kit hitting the UK?

  • where can i get add on cymbals for my e pro live, i have looked everywhere

  • @PearlDrumCorp You should send out a couple sets for review, keep in touch with the reviewer and let him help you spread the word.

  • how much will these cost

  • I-THINK-I-MIGHT-BUY-THIS, JJ looks wierd

  • I´m interested, but how much would those heads last, they are not standard, how long would they last?

  • im really looking forword for this but has pearl ever thoght of making a acrylic kit

  • this hooked up to superior 2.0 would be awesomeee

  • @timemachinedrummer

    hes so win

  • dennis chambers is such a beast!!

  • how do you get attachments and put them on

  • how much will this be when it goes on the market and how much are extra toms and cymbals going to be?

  • @Natalya1sFit Check with your Authorized Pearl Dealer for pricing.

  • I know my band will want me to get this! If you could by the tru trak heads and red box separately, I would definitely do that. But I think the drums only come in 10, 12, 14, and 20 kick.. If I am wrong, somebody please enlighten me"!!

  • @steve311rocks The Tru-Trac heads are not sold separately at this time. The sizes you mentioned are correct.

  • dANG THAT KIT LOOKS BAD ASS !!!! ITS BETTER THAN ROLAND dRUMS

  • Is this out yet?

  • will you be able to buy all the cymbals that you could get with your acoustic? If not please list what will be available....

  • @Fortminor09 Currently the e-Pro Live kits has a rubber and a brass cymbal package to choose from. The rubber cymbal package includes a 12" hi-hat, 12" crash, and 14" ride. The brass cymbal package include 12" crash, 16" ride, and 12" brass top/plastic bottom hi-hat.

  • when will this kit be on the market? october 2010?

  • @jabbowokee13 The first shipment will leave the Pearl Headquarters this month... however the first kit will ship to our recent e-Pro Live Contest winner!

  • @PearlDrumCorp When will we know who won the contest?

  • @brandonbear1 Leonard Glower Jr. of Joliet, IL was the grand prize winner of the e-Pro Live Sweepstakes.

  • @PearlDrumCorp NOOOOOO!

  • how do you expand it? plz answer

  • @TheJammyboy1 probably the same way you do with other electric kits

  • There are two bass drums with two double pedals so when he moves around the kit he can still play double bass, it's very smart actually, and this kit is amazing.

  • are they really loud when they are hit?

  • @ludwigdrummer94 One of our upcoming videos will have the e-Pro Live kit being played with the module off so you can only hear the pads and cymbals.

  • @PearlDrumCorp alright, thanks!

  • I also read you can use real drum heads, which is a plus. I want one.

  • i still rather play my acoustic kit but this is nice

  • when does it come out in stores?

  • wen does it come out?

  • im looking to invest in an electric drum kit mainly 2 keep the neighbours happy. so tell me. is this kit silent like the others?

  • that was the blisters exists solo and wtf that was a double bass peddal not double bass

  • Brilliant!!!!! =)

  • why does joey jordison one a double bass pedal

  • @freestylefilmsinc inferno does it too, the 2nd kick drum's for looks

  • am i missing something or....? when that first dude is hittin the drums it looks like theres a double beater on the 1 bassdrum but theres 2 bassdrums so its just for show? :P

i would have liked to see a clip of how the kit sounds with the volume off to get an idea for the noise level but whatever im getting one anyways o i dont really care

  • When will we be able to purchase the tru-trac heads separately?

  • @Catpoosalt The Tru-Trac heads are not sold separately at this time.

  • could you buy single components for the e-pro kits? such as add-on cymbals, toms, or another bass drum?

  • @gmenrule1024 The Tru-Trac heads/components are not sold separately at this time but good news is coming!

  • Why is joey jordison playing a double bass pedal when he has 2 bass drums?

  • @gibsongod15 looks

  • how are you supposed to use this as an acoustic set when the the hi-hat cymbal only has the top part?

and also, do the cymbals make when the set is turned off (just like real cymbals) or do they only make noise when you're playing the set is turned off?

to listen to yourself playing do you have to connect the redbox to an amp or speaker, or is there a speaker included?

  • What extra symbols will be available

  • expandability? when joey was playing, be in mind that there were 2 of the modules

  • How much will these be in Canadian prices ?

  • Can you buy a second red box to expand the set

  • @Fortminor09 You can expect to see the r.e.d.box modules in stores by October 2010.

  • how much in pounds

  • man im just really curious about where dennis chambers gets his shoes.....i want a pair

  • im only watching the video just to hear to the module, because im getting the alesis dm10 studio, or the pro kit, whichever, and the modules are exactly the same just rebranded for pearl anyway

  • can you do rim shots with this kit i read that you cant but with the pictures in this vid looks like they have white rims can they be used or not

  • @matt14900 There are rims on the snare & tom Tru-Trac heads... rimshots are no problem!

  • but how does it sound acoustically? that's the question I have!

  • It's also time to end roland's overpriced domination of the ekit market. Over $6K for the TD-20K...totally absurd! It's made of cheap parts.

  • Very impressive.

  • I wonder why they didn't showcase the acoustic part of it.... (:

  • What happens if you bust a head? and This is Incredible! This is why I use Pearl drums great job!

  • i'm in love i want one so bad. I have a simmons sd9k now, which is a graet kit, but in the future i can see myself with a pearl e-pro live

  • With any electric Kit I think I would still like to hear more cymbals because I'm not hearing the same nuances

  • will you be offering shell and brain kits for the drummers out there that already have a ton of hardware or that prefer stands to a rack ?

  • when does it get released?

  • Now i like electronic drums for the purpose of being able to practice in the middle of the night or in the morning without anyone bitching..how loud are these heads and cymbals?

  • those tru track heads looks like the future (not the drum kit just the heads)

i mean i hav an acoustic kit so i just need those heads to do recording on my home studio:) with vst technology! they really look comfortable tu play

anyone know if they are for sale individual?

  • @imabitch4u The Tru-Trac heads are not sold separately at this time.

  • @PearlDrumCorp They should be. Personally, I don't need another drum set, my Masters BRX is all I need, but the ability to switch heads on my kit to make them digital? That would be invaluable to anybody.

  • If you could sell the R.E.D. Box and the Heads (and possibly the cymbals) you don't need to sell the whole package, could sell it for less and appeal to those who don't need an extra kit, but need a practice kit just without buying a second. (Redundancy of no need to buy a second kit, yes. Just trying to throw out an Idea haha)

  • @PearlDrumCorp

when the heads are getting changed with real heads. does it sounds like a masters or a vision...

  • @clance13 Look for the new e-Pro Live video featuring its acoustic side... coming soon!

  • when does it come out??

  • price?

  • hood hop kit ftw!!!!!!!!!!

  • shit that looks sick. only wish i had the money to get it tho lol

  • why double bass with double pedal????

  • Hi-Hat Stand?

  • If it was a 8 piece i would get it, i dont know if its in the marketplace though

  • Can you tune the drums and change the sizes of the drums and cymbals?

  • @dodgeviperke

you can probably tune the acoustic heads... lugs r there but sample wise you should be able to find tuned to ur liking... 100 sounds would be enough 4 me... im not picky eithe so that's almost too many

  • Now this setup makes sense...2 kits for one

  • @Jetdreams65

when i saw him turn it into an acoustic snare i was like...

    Waaaaaaaaaaat?

  • Can we just buy the heads?

  • @fattyJNL u would need the shells more than anything

  • is it usb powered?

  • @bhmr5711 A power supply is included with the r.e.d.box module.

  • @bhmr5711

i think so... cause i'm wondering how to get samples from website--->computer--->module

    \so probably usb

  • When I buy this kit next month, I'm Deff gonna get the 9 piece version! haha

  • my only problem is 2 things, first if the cymbals are brass, then wouldnt they make noise outside of the electric sound they make and also if they are made out of real brass, they would break the sticks, unlike other electric kits, but then you can get the plastic cymbals.

  • All electronic drum sets make clicking noises, even the plastic/rubber ones. The brass cymbals are like the Surge from Alesis, they either have a coating or an extra layer to stop the sound. Yes they will probably still make noise but not as bad as you think.

  • I like how Joey has a double bass kit, but uses a double bass pedal, point in having the other bass drum?

    Looks better I geuss.

  • @PPLSUP4

I think he uses the other bass drum as a different sounded bass drum, so he can play two different bass drum in a song (forgive my english)

  • @PPLSUP4

    theyre trying to deminstrate expandability

  • @PPLSUP4 hes had his kit like that for the last 3 or 4 years. he used two kick pedals with two bass drums on the first 3 Slipknot records. dunno why he uses a double pedal now

  • you could buy 2 of these kits for the price of a Roland td-20 so i think these are priced pretty fair

    Roland td-20=$6999.99

    pearl e pro=$3199.99 [w brass symbols]

    pearl e pro=$2999.99 [w/o brass symbols]

  • Take THAT Roland !~!~

  • is this already out?

  • what wood is the shells made of?

  • poplar like a forum kit

  • i want this in a 8 piece kit

  • is it possible to take a regular acoustic kit, trigger it,and replace the normal heads and cymbals with mesh ones and use it as an electronic drum kit? because I think Pearl has an amazing idea having 2 kits in 1 and I would like that same ability...but without shellin out the few thousand dollars

anybody know if this can be done?

  • if you happen to have the right diameter it should work, but it would still cost A LOT to get anything that feels like real drums

  • Non male ! non vedo l'ora di metterci su le bacchette ! !

  • i would totally go for it if i had the cash

  • but... it is pretty cool

  • can you put the pads on any other kit? like my old pearl kit, just sell the pads and cymbals if they fit.

  • great

  • the only reason i would get these, is if i lived in an apartment or something, or just to play around with the cool sounds. Im just an acoustic drums kinda guy.

  • Acoustic or electronic, BEST of both words.

  • Seems like this is the closest e-drums have come, but they still are "not there" yet. There are some things this kit can't do, nor can ANY e-kit do. Play brush patterns WITH brushes (esp the white noise swish) and play VERY soft press rolls with sticks. Also, although the cymbal bell sounds good, riding the ride and crashing the crashes sound like acoustic cymbals that are either clamped down too tight and/or have excessive tape on them resulting in a dead or muffled sound.

  • I have owned several pearl kits over the years so I am a huge fan but this kit sounds electric. The drums look and sound good. The cymbals is what would keep me from purchasing this kit. The sound is not even close to a real cymbal. Could be the settings on the kits they chose but being that this is pearls demo vid, I would expect more from them. Great start but would wait for the second generation of this kit before I would purchase.

  • Do the cymbals have prechoke? like on the Yamaha DTXtreme IIISP?
