Now I just look foward to the occasional pill score. People like me cant do heroin for recreation but I can with things like opanas so now thats the only score I have to look foward too.

I've never done pills or powders, and never even felt tempted to. I have Layne and Alice to thank for that. All these kids seem to think that being able to "relate" to Layne equates to taking the same shit that he did. I would never pretend that I have ever been able to "relate" to Layne or Alice's songs.. however, I've most definitely learned a lot from them.. which I like to think Layne would be a lot happier about.

Layne started to take heroin at twelve i think and yeah i think people of 16 can relate to this....maybe not these dudes on youtube but some actually do.
Being in 10th grade or 16 has nothing to do with maturity level. and life experience, im 16 and ive been addicted to cocaine twice, freebase cocaine once, pcp, and i smoke weed every day 4-6 times. but heroin is what im currently struggling with. currently a half gram of heroin snorted or smoked, regardless of quality, will not get me high. i had to take care of myself for a month when i was 8 years old, had to steal food from the store and everything, i grew up real young, age is only a number.

why do people care about the genre a band is. you cant call alice in chains any specific genre, they made their own sound and they cant be catergorized into a certain type of music because they arent just one genre, they are a collaboration of many different sounds which is why the chains are so great.

I think they are the heavier side of grunge. Some of their earlier stuff sound a little pop even (Fear the Voices.) You're right though, some of their stuff is alternative, but "Dirt" in my opinion is, Grunge at its finest.

No, I'm not saying people who havent used drugs can't enjoy or understand their music. Just not as much as someone who has. The fact is there's different levels of understanding something.People who have in fact done heroin, or struggled with drug abuse or depression have a deeper, more real connection with AICs music. If you've never experienced that, then you are simply a poser who might genuinely believe he likes something, but in reality is a 16yr old with little or no experience in life.

Being in 10th grade or 16 has nothing to do with maturity level. and life experience, im 16 and ive been addicted to cocaine twice, freebase cocaine once, pcp, and i smoke weed every day 4-6 times. but heroin is what im currently struggling with. currently a half gram of heroin snorted or smoked, regardless of quality, will not get me high. i had to take care of myself for a month when i was 8 years old, had to steal food from the store and everything, i grew up real young, age is only a number.

I mean the lead singer died of heroin overdose , not all of his songs where influenced by drugs (maybe) but im sure some of them were so you dont know that mentality of feeling .

why do people care about the genre a band is. you cant call alice in chains any specific genre, they made their own sound and they cant be catergorized into a certain type of music because they arent just one genre, they are a collaboration of many different sounds which is why the chains are so great.

Did I say I hate them? They're one of my favourite bands! And yeah, they have a little of the "Grungy guitar" sound, but they still qualify as alternative metal, IMO. I think the only reason they're associated with Grunge is because they're from Seattle...

I think they are the heavier side of grunge. Some of their earlier stuff sound a little pop even (Fear the Voices.) You're right though, some of their stuff is alternative, but "Dirt" in my opinion is, Grunge at its finest.
