  • @xDoubleZer00x Agreed. Mw2 dlc is around 50$ on dlc

  • Xbox tried to steal money from me. I have autorenewal OFF and they still tried to charge my card. To bad for them I had them banned from charging my card since they wouldn't let me remove it from billing. My account is now suspended and I can't use xbox live codes.....wtf? Not my fault they tried to steal from me.....I should be a silver account!

  • Its an absolute joke. Blackops is £44.99 on DLC... or I cud just spend £10 on eBay!

Its not even a new game!!

MW2 Map packs are still like £25...

  • Why dont you take MS to court over unfair retail practices?

  • @truthseekers666

Because you would never win Microsoft is Multi-million dollar corporation and your a single voice in a flood of consumers who they couldn't careless about.

  • the rest of the them suck and are worth $0 and 0 cents

  • to me the only halo games the are slightly descent are halo reach and halo combat evolved

  • Microsoft is going to loose money going all online.I buy stuff I see in stores, most of the time i walk in and never know what I really want.I talk to the retailer they tell you whats good whats new ect. None of these things happen online and Microsoft knows it. If the game stores go away no one will promote their new console most will go back to the PC games, can we say bankruptcy. That's why online is more money and will even go higher to offset the losses as the stores close

  • Microsoft rips off people. Sony is the least secure. I may like Nintendo the best, but I respect the other consoles. But some of the DLC and examples such as this are why ps3/x360 loves to rip people off. The wii u will have an online store, i just hope it doesn't do things like this. Please don't flame me for liking Nintendo, that's just immature.

  • Game stores (for example Gamestop) are also rip offs, I feel. For example, selling an excellent condition copy of a good game that is worth at Least 40$, you get only 5$. There's a huge problem there.

  • I picked one up for my nephews an figured I could play all the FEW games (6 total) I wanted to try, the DASHBOARD is ADVERTISEMENT HELL, holy crap it's bad, an Xbox Live forces you to pay to use stuff the PS3 gives up for free. Why should I pay to use Facebook or Youtube, Microsuck does not own these services. I already have an internet connection.

  • red dead redemption is 40 bucks. you can pick it up used for 15 bucks. are you kidding me. atleast Steam has good weekend deals that are actually good deals.

  • N64 cartridges is where it's at. No loading screens.

  • Disc are only high because of packaging and marketing but if say a game in the store is about always around 60$ so if the same game in my opinion is a dd it should be the same price to make it fare because if dd is the future theres still going to be people that like disc so make the price the same for disc and dd

  • Games are way over priced.. 65.1 dollars for a video game? I can't see digital downloading doing well in the future.

  • 50 pounds= 65 us dollars not 80

  • Fuck you microsoft

  • 2:00 AMEN! :)

  • @Kutsuit i know a lot of people with consoles and p.c that don't have the internet it would make no sense at this point in time for games to be only available through digital distribution where they only give you 1 choice to download the game and in a country where i live i have a cap on my internet where i can only download up to 100 gigs a month so think about some games for the ps3 being up to 50 gigs and my net only goes 1.5 megs a second

  • so if games are for download only what will people do if they do not have internet access i can not see that happening any time soon

  • I'm with you 100% xbox live is a total rip off.

  • 60 euro/dollars is alot for games

  • @pkerch00b1 60 euro does not equal a dollar....

  • @amadshadow ya i know its even more its around 80 dollars or 85 dollars and that for just 1 game

  • @pkerch00b1 Yeah its crazy.

  • Sony all day

  • I boycott all mircosoft because its cheap and they want all your money

  • lets boycott

  • Gh... Grazy

  • lucky 4 me im in uk but i fell sorry for you guys in usa what rip offs but i have ps3 only but that still has good prices for FULL games microsoft are greedy little cunts and also no game is worth 80 qrid and halo is good iv plyed it but reach is not worth 80qrid.

  • Games For Windows LIVE on demand charges twice as much as retail.

  • Well this is reasonable it shouldnt be that high but charge them something like 5$ more because this can be helpful for people who have ruined lasers or are clumsy and knock their consoles over

  • i like how hes talking shit bout microshit and theres a 360 controller to his right lol u rock gunns

  • walmart is 24/7 so haha microsoft im going to walmart

  • Sony and Nintendo rip people off too. All 3 of them too. You have to be smart, they do make stupid mistakes and rip people off or whatever, etc etc etc, they have faults, but they are still good.

  • 1.21 sorry...lol

  • one minute into the vid and i already know im not watching anymore vids from this guy...lmfao

  • me and my friend threw down 20 dollars and got Assassin creed Brotherhood then Gameshared. :D. But no games should be 39.99 i see no reason why not. We dont get commericials on TV anymore for games very rarely. Ill only buy the next gen if its 399.99 and it plays all my ps3 games if not FUCK sony im going PC because it play every PC GAME REALESEAD.

    Peace and Love.

  • I checked on amazon that's like three PS2 consoles :0

  • That's way to much an games were 50 bucks (4 ps2) an now they're 60. Yeah ps3 games an 360 games are 200% better look at bf3 but still bakk then they were "amazing" graphics an they were 50. So they need to lower the cost. Later

  • i dont blame the products such as xbox, pc, ps3 etc. I just blame the big companies like microsoft and Sony, who dont even think if i was a customer would i buy it for that price. its all just money, money, money. I dont even enjoy dlc for games anymore because its 10 bucks for an 1 hour gameplay.

  • wait what? no, comon gunns they dont suck they ARE FUCKING ASSHOLES

  • they jack the prices because they can get away with it. video games are popular, people are GOING to buy lots of them. it's like the movie theater. weekend movie tickets at my local theater cost $10.25! but people still buy the tickets regardless, so the company sees an opportunity to make more moeny.

  • $80, that's for special collectors edition

  • Halo Reach costs $99.99 AUD from Games on Demand in Australia. At current exchange rate, that equals $106.19 USD. Another example, MW2 games on demand is $109.95AUD which is a whopping $116.79 USD. FOR A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD OF A GAME THAT IS OVER A YEAR OLD. This is the definition of rape. Retail prices are just as bad. Any new release call of duty has a RRP of $119 AUD which is about $127 US. For a Game. Its despicable, so I import every game I buy for way cheaper. Fuck you australian publishers.

  • microsoft sucks

  • on PC, brand new games cost $50, on Xbox 360, its $60, and PC is sooooo much more powerful, Xbox sucks

  • @themanwich212 $50 fuck no.

  • I don't pay too much for games. I buy almost all my games on Steam. No game on there is $60. Atleast not for long.

  • As a gamer I believe that games are overpriced and I rarely by games when they come out. Usually I just go to game stop later on and pick them up used but in great condition for a great price I don't like paying 60 dollars for a game

  • The price us ridiculous. However, it is unlikely that they will ever be half the price if a hard copy, for the simple reason that retailers will refuse to stock the game if they are being undermined by a cheaper, virtual copy if the game. It will hurt the company more than the retailer.

  • thats y pc gamers crap on games for windows market place....steam sales ftw

  • Oh yea Microsoft should give u receipts for buying games when u use Microsoft points not just visa card

  • I don't remember halo being 80 I thought was 60 but yea I think that the digital copys should be at least 5 10 bucks cheaper and the should find a way to license games to ur hard drive not consol cuz I can't even take my hdd to my friend house to play the 15 digital games I have cuz he doesn't have the net btw I only buy digital copys of games that are on par with there disc based counter part

  • Microsoft is a bunch of greedy fucks thier equipment breaks without u even touching or over using it and the fact that the terrible ass 50 cent game is on games on demand for 60 dollars are u freaking joking u could get that game at the store for 10 dollars microsoft is a bunch of money hungry bastards. All of microsofts shit has a fail safe part in it so it breaks after a certain period of time so that way u go and buy a new one. Sony FTW! i have never had a problem with the PS3, only my Xbox.

  • I do think that games r overly priced same thing with the Ms points

  • look dude no offense but u needa stop ranting. u spend like 90% of vids on rants

  • Dude. Selling digital games is basically making money from NOTHING. The bastards at the game department of Microsoft needs to get its long overdue reality check

  • Noooo, i love collecting games and putting them on my shelf :(

  • a euro is $1.36

  • This is the exact crap that gets on my nerves also. It's absolutely ridiculous that they have that price on digital content. Bunch of f-ing rip-off puto's. They already get enough money from the games we originally purchase.

  • 39 people work for microsoft..... O SHIT!

  • your cat is a troll go feet her

  • lucky for me i get all the on demand games free!

  • If Nintendo continues with discs, I'll still use it. I like having a copy physically of the games I get. That way my console breaking doesn't mean I lose my games or have to download and/or install them again.

  • $20

    PS3

  • microsoft points are a scam anyway i dont see why they dont just sell stuff in currency like the ps3 or PC microsoft are being different for a reason and thats to scam

  • i dont have an exbox but my mate says normal games are their cost around £42 which is $68 so were being scammed by 8 dollars anyway

  • thats why i dont have an xbox i dont like microsoft or that rich fag bill gates

  • Comment removed

  • he is right we as consumers shouldn't be buying expensive games like that because its not like video games are made efficient , most of the games I have im sure developers didn't put their full effort in making them. If a PS3 game disc can hold 50gig of memory why would a game made for both the ps3 and xbox 360 console look the same. Shouldn't they push for efficiency and make the PS3 version of them game even better and all other games made exclusively for the ps3 be pushed to the max.

  • You should live in a country where we get ripped off all the time with our games. COD = 50 bucks in US. In Australia COD = 100 bucks. Stupid considering out dollar is stronger then the US

  • XBOX SUCKS!!! SONY RULES!!!

  • Micro$oft are greedy bastards

  • they are clearly scam artists put out a system that breaks in 3 months charge extra for a warrenty

it break in any form you dont have the warrenty they charge for a repair instead of taking it back to gamestop

thats a definition of a scam.

microsoft can burn down for all i care if here that on the news one day im gonna crack up so hard

  • god ur ppl are so stupid talking about this topic it self is stupid , listen if you dont like it dont buy it there is alot of games on demand that are cheaper so be quiet

  • @MegaDICE10 thanks for watching a vid you dont like hypocrite

apperently this is a big issue at hand that needs to be questioned and disscussed

and we will say and do as we want

we wont stop cause of bottom feeders like you think you have the place to tell us what to do

im my own man so is everyone else talking if we want to address/rant on a huge issue

    dont like it tough

  • @fpascale789 I didnt say I didnt like the video dum shiet , I sayed people should be thanking the xbox for having the games on demand I think its a great feature , i know there is some games that are priced the way the game was priced when the game actually came out but so what we shouldnt make somany bitching comments like u , DONT LIKE IT DONT BUY IT I THINK GAMES ON DEMAND IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO XBOX , I GOT MANY REASONS WHY , IF U WANT TO CONTINUE THIS BITCHING U DO.

  • you've earned a new subscriber.

  • Theres no manufacturing, packaging, shipping or retail cost [retailers take half] . Discs are much better & can be used on multiple consoles, gamertags & if ur hardrive breaks u still have the game. Digitial downloads are benefit to MS, no benefit to us. Were giving you [microshit] the good deal & yet u will charge even more for us to accommadate you LMAO. WTF is that. DDs are of no benfit to me so if anything u should be bending over for me & givin me the fair cost [half of the retail version]

  • Y cant halo be for ps3 too. Bungie could have made almost twice the profits they get now

  • disks = 5p er disk, you are paying for the stuff on the disk. Digital download should cost as much as the normal version. Also games are WAY overpriced to begin with especially microsoft. They make a loss on selling the consoles so people are forced into paying redicliously high prices for games.

This is why i play on the PC it only costs £30 max per game if you know where to get them from. (with the exception of Blizzard games cos they are only PC games so ist a bit diffrent).

  • black ops was 120 Aud when its 60 dollars US even with a 1:1 exchange rate on the currency, its total BS.

  • i bought borderlands on psn for only Rs 15000 (25 dollars) yesterday

  • This isn't exactly the same, but GT5: Prologue and Burnout Paradise cost the same amount digitally on PSN as they do if you were to go to the store and pick them up, so you saying "it should be half" is something I disagree with. Less? Yes. Half? Not exactly.

But selling it at US$80....honestly doesn't surprise me. Microsoft has been ripping gamers off for YEARS (Xbox LIVE, system quality), so it's no wonder they're trying to do this.

  • Microsoft, stop angering people I've got a 360 over here!

  • Disc based games are over priced in my opinion. Even when the cost was around 50 I still thought that was to high, 40-45 for a new game would be much better. If Halo Reach was sold as a download, 30 I think would be a great price. As for games being sold exclusively online, I can see that happening with the next gen console. But if they are going to sell it to me for 50 or 60 as a download, forget it.

  • dude i agree with him a fucking redtard wouldnt do that they have enough brain power to understand that a digital copy of something sould ba half to a 25% of the disk price. and 2 reasons for me not doing that is that 1 i dont have that kind of money and am no that stupid2 my couin would call me a fucking stupid dumbass and beat the shit out of me tell im bleeding in a hospital....

  • I'm an Aussie and as the top comment says we pay twice as much as the US for the exact same product. You guys payed $130 for your helghast edition Aussies paid $250 now where the hell is the reasening in that. Our dollar is the same now and I just dont understand. And I really hope that the game industry doesnt go towards digital downloads because I like having a case or disk in my hand and with the crappy Australian internet we have many people wont be able to game anymore.

  • 37 people like spending more money for less tangible products! they are idiots.

  • OnLive is the future.

  • Yeah you can......It's unbreakable :) i broke my black ops 4 times, and had to re-buy it 4 times.....

  • @wingknight28 ...I still have my Kingdom Hearts disc for PS2, a bit scratched but completely readably...4 times? >.>

  • A lot of M$ game customers are 12 years old, and get their parents to buy the game. And most parents are to sheep like to question the cost.

  • I Don't think that disk games cost to much eg Gears 3 will be 40£-50£ that game will last me about 6months and i still play gears2 but its despicable asking us to pay 50£/80$ on demand for Halo Reach as i got it for 40£/65$ in Asda/Wallmart on the release date . I think Disk based games will stay because there is all ready ways to get 120,000 MSP for 15$ from some websites so therefore MS will make a Loss. 60£ For a 12day entertainment is Acceptable in my mind.

  • At best the packaging and disk costs a publisher around $2 or 3, the rest is just for production cost.

I think games are overpriced, but thats because the production costs are getting higher since games are becoming bigger (not all of them).

But these business practices with MS are bullcrap, they sell games that are 2 or 3 years old still at $19 or 29, which you can find for much less at your local store, ebay or amazon.

  • Totally agree all dlc is over priced. Avatar clothing averaging 3 or more dollars a pop. dlc map packs over priced for what you get, should be no less than another 8-10 maps when you are paying 1/5 of the entire game cost for a few maps n nothing else? However I do think that cd game prices are fair. Been gaming since day one of console gaming n prices have gone up but in at a fair increase? Considering you spend about 80 dollars for a game n 2 dlc's and get 30+ days of game play hours, not bad?

  • I don't think you can compare the prices of games across the continent, since (the majority of) new games cost 50 pounds in the UK. Which is approximately 85 bucks. Prices of other things have about the same ratio though, i.e. Soda, Bag of chips...

As for a digital copy (should) cost half of what its original amount was, is a bit ridiculous. A piece of plastic and a game manual doesn't cost a company 30 bucks.

If you don't like something or feel its priced too high, don't buy it.

  • amen

  • awww SHIT!!!

  • We pay £45 for most new games in the UK anyway. That's like $70 US. It's crap that it's more for a digital version, but it's bullshit that games cost that much at all! For that much money, we really should get more free DLC.

  • FUCK MICROSOFT AND XBOX, PS3

  • The reason the discs are so expensive is because sony/microsoft/nintendo dont actually make any money selling the consoles, only their revenue from the games. Also think about what has to go into this, the game devs, marketing, customer support, online servers, disc and packaging. All of this stuff covers the first 15-20 dollars you pay, microsoft essentially want to triple their profit margin on games, it is daylight robbery!

  • @joeg2312 daylight robbery? its a company not a charity get the fuck over it. Admit it if games were cheaper youd have all these games that you dont even play on the side of your xbox. You guys need to stop bitching cause you guys got ps3 and not xbox 360 (that last sentence wasnt made directly twoards joeg2312 but everyone elses comments). And its not happening in the US so why do we care? Also there is only around 20000 people that play reach daily... how many of that is in Europe?? 2 people..

  • @joeg2312 what came to my mind was how much memory these would take up for people on their devices. most likely the games on average will be anywhere from 10gigs and up for both single player and online. you will probally end up being charged a whole lot for buying devices from them that give u more memory. the future of gaming is a scary high priced one.

  • Totally agree wtf Microsoft thats so unfair how can you even do that? Wow just milking the gamers out there..

  • Discs or any hard-copy way of buying media will probably never be phased out, not when kids cant get credit cards.

  • Australia's games cost so, so much, yet we don't even have a freaking R rated classification.

  • Wow, $80 for a digital copy of Reach?...hmmmm...screw Microsoft...They can shove all those worthless points up their ass

  • @wardxamy

Aha yeah, and you're defending 360 ? nice

  • Microsoft is Money Whores.:( that is y PS3 is alot more Good:)

  • @levigus1 alot more good...not alittle more good?

  • oh my gatos

  • Also, downloading them directly means they won´t have to pay a % to a retailer, add that to packaging, shipping, disc costs and you have a pretty big amount of money they are saving, but instead of making you save money, they are like "Oh, I just saved 20 USD, I´m so happy i´m gonna raise the prices so I can make 40 more!"

  • so what thats just reach

  • I would expect a copy of windows 7 with that

  • I think if ya stupid enough to pay that amount ya deserve to be ripped off...

  • a ps3 disc cost is 116 us dollors here in iceland + xbox sucks just saying

  • What makes this even more asinine is the fact that a digitally downloaded game has ABSOLUTELY 0% resale value

  • its so that it stays equivialnt to games they but there. dude it sucks but thats marketing

  • Worst vid he has ever made. they should be the same cost. people need to be paid, we want our games getting better and it takes money.

  • @juicedeere What's it like to work for Microsoft?

  • DUHHH!!!

  • First it was 50$ for ps2, now its 60$ for ps3, Now i am guessing the next in 10 years might be 70 But 80 for a "24/7" Game? how is the disc not 24/7? Only difference is you have to INSERT it!

  • Well now i can go to game station or game and buy halo reach hardened addition for only £30 - £40

  • Glad I have a PS3. Now that I'm hearing this I'm going to warn my cousins that own a 360. Even my cousin says the 360 overall sucks as a machine.

  • @ninjadude17 360 kicks ass and the ps3 sucks balls

  • @Incrediblemrj1088 You can keep thinking that all you want. I have no care for the system. I just think owning that system is like living in a house that you have to constantly pay for. Just to even play the thing online can be the cost (at one point) of a game at $60.

  • I miss the good old days when you could get a brand new game for $50 or less.

  • this charging more for 24/7 convenience argument is indeed BS

does walmart charge more for their products? no so why does microsoft? oh wait, i know why.....

  • its only 60 dollars for reach but still it should cost less or atleast have a trial period or discount

  • I had a look on there I think MW2 was £40, bloody ridiculous. Amazon had it for £26 last time I checked

  • Microsoft is retarded. I'm a Xbox 360 games I must admit. After learning about this Microsoft just basicly imsulted all the xbox 360 gamers. Seriously There sucking money out of our pockets by charging us to go onto Xbox Live. Because of them I don't have enough money to buy a PS3. I am 14 by the way. I mean there are lots of things I could've bought instead of buying their trash.

  • @fluvveh95 yea it should be like 100. also they were saying that it cost them alot to make it but 60 isnt alot

  • @MVrockersPS3 agreed

  • VALVe needs to slap Microsoft across the face. Microsoft steals too much money. They even CHARGE money to change your gamertag! WTF? On Steam you can change your username anytime you want, EVEN IN-GAME!

  • yo gunns we got the same hp computers

  • Crap like in Finland new games normally cost 70 euros, 99 dollars, i could go out and buy a car working car for that price, outrageous.

  • @SarjisHeppu No.. It's 60 euros. 45 from Aland (Ahvenanmaa) and even less if trading used games for it. Dude, you're getting ripped off..

  • @jeiskax I dont buy em with that price, i get em from some backstreet blackmarkets anyway. But normal people buy them at that price.

  • @SarjisHeppu No.. Normal people still buy them for 60 euros or less.

  • Lol my Grandma's cat was called Boots

  • microsoft go suck a dick

  • 40 pounds isn't like $80 actually. i mean yes if you take 80 pounds they'll give you 80 bucks but from the money they earn in UK is more than US so when they sell a 50 pound new game, it's normal for them but of course Microsoft gets more but its not how much they earn but how much they pay for depending on how the economy is in that country. so maybe 10 pounds less should be right but thats it.. i pay almost 70€ here in spain and i should be paying 40€ ($60)

  • Everything you say in this video is right. Microsoft is getting TOO greedy. it scares me. most games on all 3 consoles (wii,xbox,ps3) have free dlc, yet xbox always makes you pay. im so ready to sell my xbox, which is a big thing for a hardcore game addict like me (but buy a ps3 and black ops ;) ) And selling digital copies for such high prices is like they are begging us to pirate that shit.

Also. Epic beard man. YOU are the new EPIC BEARD MAN

  • @GUNNS About 3 mins into the vid, I opened another tab, went to FutureShop.ca and guess what...they have Halo Reach on for $39.99. And it's available online so they'll even mail it to you if you want. You're right; Microsoft is a vile, greedy corporation. I think we should boycott any 'On Demand' games that can be readily purchased off a shelf somewhere for equal or less money.

  • Yeah, it is pretty strange how a digital download of a game costs $60 when the publisher doesn't have to pay for packaging, printing of the discs/manuals/.etc and shipping of said physical discs.

  • Looks like there trying to make up for money they lost to the hackers stealing microsoft points :O So glad I own a ps3 [:

  • Here in Australia, the average cost for a new game from EB or Game and most retailers is $110. with the exchange rate being around 1:1 for USD to AUD I think we are paying way too much especially compared to America where a new game costs ~$60.

  • @TheonlyAequitas $110 ?!?!?! Unbelievable ..

  • @TheonlyAequitas i kno right! its a joke..... thats y i go to JB. i got lbp2 for $65 buks there and it was $110 at EB....

  • @TheonlyAequitas Thing is Australian living costs more as well :/ I mean say you're paying $170 on a really good place for rent per week, in America you'd be paying a bit more than half for the exact same place. You gotta remember Australia has to import games as well which adds to costs hence why our games are so expensive.

  • @TheonlyAequitas the australian government hates gamers and gaming alike.. they ban so many games

  • I dont know why your making such a big deal about something like this. How about the fact that Microsoft is now working on another project that might force us all to buy new consoles! =(

  • the whole idea of digital download is to reduce the chance of illegal copying entirely. the companies that publish and ship the games want their money's worth, but it comes at too high a price for the age group that is the majority of their consumers. they need to be a bit more fair bcuz mommy and daddy can barely pay rent and necessities for living nowadays. microsoft needs quick price gauging their loyal community that made their petty asses what they are today.

  • lol, screw amazon. There is/was a used copy on ebay for 9.99 CAD. Microsoft is stupid to think that people would buy over priced gmes just for convenience. Please, no one buy games from microsoft!

  • @mouldycrouton I forgot to add that microsoft already charges for their xbox live service so charging extra again is just ludicris!

  • I dunno what Microsoft is sayin. You have 24 hour access to any game u buy on a disk. Plus u don't lose it if something goes wrong with the console. They are con artists

  • @wiiLuvCalifornia You would be able to download from your friends account, also.

  • ok i think you have this ALL wrong! i havent looked it up at all BUT that is what the price is in the U.S. i think so maybe just maybe they forgot do the currency exchange and every thing and some d-bag made a fake statement saying they were microsoft and saying that it is as you said......but if they did say that stuff....holy fuck! they are stupid i gave an excuse in like 2 seconds of though they should be good at making excuses

  • i know wanted to buy mw2 but games on demand is still 60 dollars gamestop has it for 25$

  • on the final part, I think games becoming increasingly more expensive overtime is insane. The only even slight justification is because they are switching to Blu-Ray discs on the PS3. Beyond that, I miss the days of games being 40 dollars.

  • @arkcommando I would expect that games will continue to go up in price because of inflation. Everything will go up in price. Also games cost way more to make now, so they should be slightly more expensive. Video games still make so much profit that they could lower the price, but sadly, I don't think we will see new games at 40$ ever again.
