Reminds me of this time when I was at a football game. Someone threw a paperplane from the upper part of the stadium, it hit very slowly a man's eye. It was so well made that the sharp edge of the paper hit a vein in the eye. Lots of blood, no big damage.

no a penny can't kill someone if dropped from that height. It would if there is no air resistance and if the acceleration is a constant 9.81 m/s^2 but since there is air in the Earth's atmosphere, this goes against the acceleration at a certain velocity creating what is called a "terminal velocity" of an object.

Based on studies done at MIT, the average penny's terminal velocity is 11.2 m/s or 25 miles per hour. This will not even penetrate the human head.

There was a string. It just had a thickness of .1 mm so even if you have 20/20 vision, which i doubt, you can't see it with this video's lack of high resolution. If you look carefully with a magnifying glass, you might see it.
