@oceans80 i think unlike britney, she has fewer close long-time friends. yes, many are business associates. but she's developed a tight group around her that she can truly trust and has her back...esp. through rough times such as the past year when things went a little haywire. but it really didn't seem like britney had that a few years ago...wandering around LA gas stations deliberately trying to be photographed... @oceans80 but yeah it's natural when you work hard, work a lot, and enjoy what you do... your friends will be co-workers/business associates. no different from any of us. :-) britney is the sad cheerleader with an endearing personality and tons of acquaintances. but few real friends who'll be there when the chips are down. because - at least at one time, hopefully she's wised up now - she naively thinks everyone, including the press, is her friend. lol

The reason there was a rivalry was because the media made it up. They were both teens who came out the same time. They both were massively successful, so the media made up a rivalry between them. It didn't help the Christina was being promoted by Coke, and Britney by Pepsi, two rival companies.
