  • Where's the honeymoon is over clip, FUCK

  • This reminds me of every road trip I ever went on, love the Valiant , sigh I love Australia x

  • who remembers the valiant xl ranger????.....go the mighty val.

  • broke down at a truck stop.....

  • break down at a truck stop.....

  • Just go on a reality show and sing a few songs with no talent and next thing youve sold 500 000 albums. No hard grind the top....(remember that song "its a log way to the top " by ACDC Dr edelstone10 .???

  • @motorcycledude1000 I do; it is pretty old skool. These days people work smarter, not harder.

  • WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  • Aussie music in the early 80's was at its peak i think. OILS,COLD CHISEL,AUSSIE CRAWL,DRAGON,MI SEX,AND LOADS LOADS MORE.no more venues means no more music....Just an overload of american trash.

  • @motorcycledude1000 Arguably, the Aussie music scene got serious in the '80's. At its peak????? Hmmmmm...........turn the radio on and listen.

  • @edelstone10 And turn the radio on i do , find me 5 Aussie bands from the last ten years who are popular and will be as popular in ten to 25 years time and remembered as the few i mentioned for Great memorable songs and are influential to a generation of people and bands your doing well. Most kids cant even name 5 Aussie bands these days, ask them, but they will rattle of a hundred OS bands.

  • @motorcycledude1000

It would be hard to do as you asked (find the long lasting songs, name the bands etc) however this is more to do with the compelxity of the Australian music scene:

    1. Hard to distinguish Aussie from international - the quality is equal.

    2. Massive hits are becoming fewer and fewer (because bands are playing to smaller nich markets).

Sure Aussie Crawl etc were big (and good), but they were the pioneers which made them standout.

  • @motorcycledude1000 .............and lets also be clear: Cold Chisel, Aussie Crawl, Mi Sex, and Dragon are no longer popular, nor have they been for many years. They have miserably failed your 25yr test.

Getting airtime with Dazza and Bazza on Triple M doesn't constitute popular.

  • @edelstone10 I was done and dusted with this....But now brought it up again my first comment was about music that peaked in Australia and still gets airtime today 30 years on. None of your triple J trash will be known or played or popular in 30 years.By the way Cold Chisel is without a doubt the greatest band to come out of this Country besides INXS and ACDC..And i was talking about the overload ofAmerican shit we have to put up with today. No venues no hard grind to the top like then.

  • @motorcycledude1000 Are you freakin' GAY??????

Go and listen to Gold FM.

  • Aussie music in the early 90s was at it peak .

  • "Broke down at a truck-stop. Got wet sweat under a hard top. Wrong directions are shown. Threw up in the men's restroom. This is not the way home. Shotgun freckle the road signs. Wind burn across the white line. So much nothing has grown. Finished our 5th six-pack. This is not the way home." Aussie-Aussie!

  • "you just went to the toilet a few minutes ago"

  • " left early without payin' the bill, hitch-hiked back to Broken Hill, left my wallet somewhere.." the best!

  • Such a great road trip tune. One of the best Australian songs of all time. And agree with the other comments that The Cruel Sea were criminally underrated.

  • tex its your shout next time......rock on bro!

  • Fuckn love it....did'nt it used to go "threw up in the mens shithouse"?

  • @64roo Yes, you're right, that's how it went on the CD. To think parents don't want their kids to hear aware words, but I remember my step father playing this album at tea time when I was 10, I didn't even notice the swearing.

  • Great cd. Everytime I played it in my shop it sold.

  • What a tune. Simple and simply brilliant.

  • classic, just soooo good, the song, the band Tex :)

  • 2am falling out of the Bent Prop, N Taylor Rd, Eloy AZ....AND just about ready for a joint, providing you can find your way back to the trailer? Any skydivers here will know EXACTLY what I mean.......This is THE song!

  • they do an awesome live version of this on the gig thats viewable at moshcam.com. I,m from canada I love this song and this band , PS get into the fauves

  • Outstanding tune. Should be recognised as the classic it is.

  • This is one fuckin band that never EVER got anywhere near the kind of musical acclaim iit should have. Ballsy, no-nonsense, honest and gutsy Oz rock with genuine talent to boot. Fuck Countdown, MTV (in its Australian incarnation) for ignoring this band!

  • @pathdaly haha you were really angry when wrote that comment! But yes, music nowadays is so crap, its exasperating.

  • @DoctorChrisChris Not angry, just speaking as I see it.

  • @pathdaly totaly correct and i have met and cooked for them, tex and the beasts!

  • @pathdaly

If I recall rightly....Tex knew how to piss off the industry like no other

  • @pathdaly no kidding. coming from texas, i get the same feeling. undersold, under recognized.

  • Still searching for a live version of this song ... anyone?

  • @xxxDAZBOxxx There's a live version on the album "We don't work, we play music" it's on iTunes - 7m14sec long.

  • @archiepelagos woo hoo. thats great thanks.

    ... happy memories flooding back

  • @archiepelagos But its not that good

  • Jeez this is a cool song.

  • Anyone out there got the live version for this?

  • me favourite aussie song. never get sick off it no matter how many times i hear it

  • @onyachamp Up there with wide open road

  • @simontheboy Wide open ditch dude. Costs less if you hang your thumb out to dry!

  • Drove a VH Val wagon sydney to Darwin through outback QLD in 87, I can dig it !!!!

  • My first car was one of these, cool old car

  • Yep I remember a mate had a station wagon version. It was like riding in a mobile block of flats

  • The is the shit.....

  • we used to swing the door open to try and wack the hh good times great fun

  • wrong directions are shown

  • threw up in the mens shithouse

  • Go the old Valiant. My old man bought one of these brand new when was about 10. A lime green one

  • My mate had one of those, slow as shit but built like a tank.

  • 

  • It's supposed to be a "Ford Falcon Hardtop"

  • Aussies do it better!!!! :):)

  • Don't know about that mate but this is pretty damn good stuff!

  • You tell him, like the EA horn, we had an EB station wagon with a cargo barrier to keep the dogs in the back. In that light green. I had an XC V8 while the Missus had the EB

  • ha ha sweet... i wish mine was an eb... the ea motors just wernt as good

  • Like the old Val....

Ha Ha!!! How many times have we all floored it when a friend goes to open the car door to get in...Love It

  • Hey Tex how is wednesday?

    Haha great guys

    Tanx for posting Chepickle

  • nothing much more to add, the comments below sum it up perfectly. this track makes me want to drive to perth, slowly.

  • love it!...reminds me my harrowing trip home from the Prince of Wales...after a recent Beast's concert

  • think its time for a road trip!

    Thanks for posting; classic!

  • This is one of the best Aussie songs of all time, And yeah it makes me want to get out there and do a massive road trip. I did Melbourne to Rocky inland and then Sydney to cairns inland and this song sums it up perfectly.

  • craqueler, I couldn't agree more. Makes ya kick back and take some pride in this land eh.

  • This song makes me want to go bush with my buddies, find a rusted car wreck in the middle of no-where, and then sink 200 SG shells into it. Then, drink a six pack, and then do it all over again. Fuck yeah. Love it.

  • When people in this country of ours ask the question, WTF does it mean to be Australian? Well, this song is it.

  • They sure have a sense of humour like Australia.

Do Not Shoot At This Sign....ha ha ha

Notice one INXS track has shot at road signs as well.

    Thanks for a comment.

  • @Craquelur yep, real musica
