I'm not a big US patriot right now (because everybody knows bush has really fouled things up), but legalizing a psychoactive drug would add insult to injury to BOTH of our public policies when we overconsume alcohol and cigarettes. I know that I could give mountains of information from doctors and other credible figures that you've probably already rejected, or have cherry picked through to find facts that attempt a reasonable argument. Many Opinions, how about few facts. Fact # 1) Cannabis will never ever be legalized in out lifetime, Fact # 2) Mr Emery capitalized on this, made a lot of money, laundered it and will likely be extradited to the US

Read E1foley's comments, there seems to be a pattern in his speech as if he is being coached. Evidently a masters in public policy makes you more credible than every pothead outthere. Anyone with money can go puchase a masters degree, but still does not change the fact that you choose to remain so selfish, blind, and dogmatic. E1foley was probably given a debate assignment for school.

To assume I'm closed minded is to assume that I'm not looking at both sides. False. I just don't think it's a good idea to introduce something into our public policy that's going to be smoked when we're just starting to get the idea that cigarettes aren't that great and are starting to get banned. I understand it's a more blunt argument (no pun intended). You really don't need a masters degree to understand that.

I've done research by writing letters to random doctors in the US and Canada. NONE of those who responded would use it in their practice as it has too much potential for harm. Unfortunately the 'dogmatic' book of medicine doesn't fit into Emery's agenda, but it is what it is. Why not do some research and ask your own doctor?

Jodie, you and Marc are nothing but credibility disasters thinking that you can effect public policy while smoking bongs with baggy eyes on YouTube vids. I saw Marc on the 2000 debate, and it was such a limited perspective on what Canada needed, as everything went back to marijuana legalization as the root of every problem. I'm not a big US patriot right now (because everybody knows bush has really fouled things up), but legalizing a psychoactive drug would add insult to injury to BOTH of our public policies when we overconsume alcohol and cigarettes. In the US, we have serious problems with drunk driving and second-hand smoke. THC is a DRUG with the similar chemical properties as ACID.
And could you enlighten me, which judge rules your pot laws are unconstitutional?

What you guys don't understand is that it's a very blunt argument. Pot has unhealthy effects, no matter how it stacks up against cigs and alcohol, and there are a certain few that will stand up and say, hell no...
