  • Ok folks, I'm seeing ALOT of young girls here (ages 10-15 ish) who say they need to loose weight because they are "so" tall and weigh "so" much, and "Am I healthy?" What are you eating? That is a huge part of true health. Do you hate your body? Your body feels that and acts accordingly. I have seen that "starving" yourself gives rapid weight loss, but, it does not last. That sets in motion YEARS of fighting weight, years of hating your body... and years of non-weight related illness.

  • If you are trying to work out if you are a healthy weight, google bmi calculator (healthy is between 18.5 and 24.9)

  • @PoppyGenius11 Ate nothin for days and drank plenty of water. whenever hunger took control i gorged on tuna and corn. every now and then i took vitamin pills. 9months, 90 pounds. Less you eat, then the less work is needed to burn it. I prefer indoor life but i also took random midnight strolls and runs.I made my body use itself for energy and lost muscle first, but at the end, I just bought weights and gained the muscle back.

  • @theme karts sick in the mind? Wow. I starve myself and I only eat one meal a day and why? I'm not trying to loose wring, yeah I think I'm kinda tubby but whatever. I work out. But I do it so I can be by and hear the voice of the person I love the most. I want every moment with them possible and when I eat, I can't have that. So learn before you say something like that

    If you have had a week of over-eating and generally bad habits, then its fine to not eat for a day.

    BUT, drink alot water, don't excersize.

    Its good for you phycologically and as long as you don't do for many days and you check blood sugar and water levels, it's perfectly safe.

    People have been fasting (not eating a whole day) for years, for religious reasons. AT my church alot of men and women fast for religious reasons and they are perfectly healthy.

    People b like OMG im starving!! Why? Because they havent eaten all day or have eaten close to nothing. Its obvious how to starve urself.

    What u want to know (in my opinion) is HOW to not eat.

    The answer is:

    Willpower. You have to be strong minded if u want to stick with it.

    Drink lots of water, keep busy, dont think about food.

    Reward yourself, for NOT eating.

    If u dont have the mental power to do this, u will e

  • I havent eaten in 7 days now how ever i have been drinking alot of water, and i feel great. I have noticed alot of fat has gone (tho not all) and my muscles have stayed intact (excpet the glycogen stores have gone but that will be replaced as soon as i eat carbs again). People say its bad for you but, why do we have fat... to use when there is no foodm so it makes perfect sense to me.

  • Omg. I was the idiot who tried that I found that it's shot anyway web though u loose weight like super fast it slows down ur metabolism and u will gain it quicker if u start eating again. But how to loose weight around ur thighs I have like annoying thighs and a flat tummy and it looks kinda wierd. X

  • I starved myself last year and lost 10 lbs in two weeks. It takes a lot of will power though and I missed chocolate so I stopped. I went from 85 lbs to 98 lbs in a year. And I'm thinking of dieting because I'm 5'2 and I wanna be a model so I need to be thin.

  • I lost 20 pounds in 14 days, i wouldnt recommend it for ANYONE! not only have i lost alot of muscle but i also ended up being anemic.

  • @IWantYouToBeHappy suprisingly no. That's like trying to live off citrus acid. If you want to be healthy and lose weight, i recommend at least thirty to fourty five minutes of exorcise daily(which is the recommended amount of exorcise an adult should obtain in order to stay healthy). You do not have to keep 'junk food' completely out of your diet, but limit the amount consumed. Also, do not ingest any kind of energy drink, and or soda. You can lose a lot of ground covered with small amounts.

  • I've starved myself before and I went from 210 to 160 and managed to keep the weight off. I highly recommend it.

  • I starved myself for 9 months and lost 11 and a half stone. I survived drinking tea and water. I DON'T RECCOMMEND IT! I now have loads of excess skin and suffer from Gallbladder disease and have to have it removed due to it breaing down too much fats and I suffer Acute Pancreatitis. Don't be stupid like I was!   • Eh. You don't have to starve yourself or exercise to lose weight. You just need to count your calories and control how much you eat. Just add a zero to your body weight and that's how much you can eat and maintain your weight. Just eat less than that. I'm 6 ft and 148 lbs. I generally don't eat more than 1500 calories a day but I don't starve myself, I just eat when I feel hungry and avoid junk food and empty calories. A treat every once in awhile is okay.

  • you know what, I get sick and tired of seeing models and other women who starve themselves, ugh! I'm only 5' 8" and I weigh 140 lbs. or 145 around the holidays. In Hollywood I would be considered over weight! I'm supposed to be what, only 125, not over 130? by the way @theyear2102, I'm a woman and sometimes I wear the same shirt for two days, is that a problem?

  • Dudes I am a 5' 8 160 pound dancer and I have tried starving, and throwing, so I would never condemn anyone who has tried it. I just have to say one thing to anyone who is trying it: IT DOESN'T WORK!!! Not in the long run, and if you don't want to ride a health roller coaster for the rest of your life, do not do it. There are 3500 cal. to 1 lb. of fat. With any kind of exercise (I recommend jump rope,) you must burn more than you consume, and above all, you must have patience.

  • starving yourself is faster and easier to lose weight cuz if you dont, you hasve to under-eat which makes you suffer more, you have to take pillsAND exorcise a LOT and you dont even lose a POUND in a week but if you starve yourself, you loose about 30 pounds in a week,...

    u lose about a pound a day wen fasting. and u only begin the starvation process if u go about 42 days without eating. and how old are you that you really think that starving yourself is the right weigh to lose weight? thats called an anorexic mind. are you anorexic? cuz hell, if your not, you really should not be posting comments like this. its not enjoyable. take it from me.

  • @RussianCommie666 Nope, starving yourself means that your body goes into starvation mode, and then it starts eating off the muscles in your body such as your kidney, liver and heart. Then you might have a transplant if you are lucky, if you are not then you will be deceased. Some of these complications that you are putting on your body cannot be reversed

  • @sunkissedchickaa You're right in that parasites and even other illnesses are the most common cause for a swollen belly, or kwashiorkor in this case. Kwashiorkor can also be the result of acute food deprivation, though. As a healthy amount of protein and hormones are suddenly diminished from the body, the body loses the control to maintain the balance of fluids. These fluids leak into the interstitial spaces creating the edema characteristic of kwashiorkor.

  • @Erisha1 what a great way to slowly kill yourself. Get a clue, your body is dying slowly and you are damaging your organs. Some of these complications cannot be reversed. I have five patients waiting for livers, do be stupid. Do it the right way, a well balanced diet, and moderate exercise. You are causing your body to eat off itself as it goes into starvation mode, that is wrong and sick. You are sick get help before it is too late

Fasting and detoxifying the body are HEALTHY and natural ways of getting rid of unhealthy toxins in the body. These are the things she's suggesting. Get educate people... sheesh.
