@andresjdmfull well In NZ the 350 is a sports car & no insurance co will cover a teen for a car with a turbo, unless ur 25 or have a good guarantor. Cos the 350 is high on thieves list so are the premiums. Factor in gas, the warrant of fitness to say ur car is safe on the road, the registration & extras like the stock low profile tires (1.5 millimeters of tread to pass a warrant) & mods there's no way a student from NZ can pay for that themselves even with a scholarship.
I remember doing something similar with my brothers in the mid sixties in Sydney, but using a timber billycart. We reused a steel front axle from an early cart Dad made us, and the rear was timber (~3x2") with a timber stub axle nailed on, with ball-bearing races on 'em.
The racket we made riding the local (STEEP) supermarket carpark (here: 352 Windsor Road, Baulkham Hills, NSW 2153) must've driven the people living around it to distraction! ;-)
@Cri5i5Lulz It's cool either way. It doesn't matter who came up with it as long as you have a good time. I have yet to see anyone in America doing this

@skiddin31 He would have been under 15 years of age off the top of my head so i doubt that alot. Get your facts right mate :) Drifting's origins as a sport and recognized Motorsport technique happened in the 70s, notably in Japanese touring car racing as well as on the mountain streets.
@SBPNZ in many of his interviews, documentaries, and how-to videos he mentions that he's been doing drifting many years before he even got his license... he says it a few times in "drift Bible"... just saying.
@poeticromance He started professionally driving in the late 70s, born in 1956. We haven't yet seen videos of him prior to his professional career. As much as the respected and recognized man he is, he did not 'invent' drifting as whole, which was the basis of my reply to skiddin31. As i explained, 'Drifting' as a 'Motorsport' Technique was developed and recognized in the 70s. Kunimitsu Takahashi who notably drifted during Japanese Touring Car Racing can be accredited to Tsuchiya's beginnings.
@MrSypherin Drifting may have been around in the 30s, but not to the extent of what was developed and recognized in Japan during the 70s, and subsequently the development of drifting into the global sport it is today. I also don't rate quotes from Wikipedia as a respected form of research, so sorry if my facts drawn from general knowledge and my involvement in the sport upset you so greatly.
@skiddin31 While you are wrong about Keiichi Tsuchiya, he didn't actually start drifiting till the 70's. SBPNZ is also wrong about the origin which dates back to the 1930's by the drivers of the Grand Prix cars of the day.
@skiddin31 or in the 30s and 40s when americans were running from the cops while moonshining. yeah. go around a dirt corner as 50 mph in a 6000 lbs car with no power steering or brakes.
"the technique can be traced back to the 1970s in Japan.." Really?? People in the US were doing doughnuts with big and small block cars way before the 1970s.
I kept expecting Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap to have a 30 second clip about how "modern yet classic this sport really is..." referring to the original Big Wheel, then rambling on about other nonsense...
@dmcfz5 wtf. use some common sense. If you run onto a shooting range and get shot whos fault it is? That is exavtly what you are saying. top being a fucking dumbarse. Fuck i cant believe your comment got me so pissed off.
