what exactly is the pan of a musket??
La Fara, the pan is part of the lock - the firing mechanism of the musket. You put a bit of black powder in the pan. Then, when the flint hits the steel frizzen, the sparks hit the powder in pan, which ignites the main charge.

Is that a Pedersoli? I have a Pedersoli 1776 model. Fantastic gun.

Nope, it's a Navy Arms Charleville.

@ponto I think there are only few companies that actually make these Arms. Mosly Pedersoli ind Italy, and Various Indian makers.
However, if it works and your happy with it, who the hell cares where its from :)
